Finally got a day off and break in the weather to install a Baxter Performance oil filter adapter.

Yeah, had one on my 2022 Rubicon Gladiator. Had I been thinking when I traded it in, would have taken it off and transferred it.

Seems to be a polarizing mod to few around here but I find value in it.

Removed the Sport air dam cover and installed a metal Rubicon front skid plate. Was held up getting the upper brackets but those came in yesterday.

With help from member webduelist from the below thread, installed sun load sensor 68230114AB and Auto Headlamp Switch Assembly 68542459AA and enable Auto Headlamps with JScan on my base model Gladiator.

This was one of the few niggles I had about getting this base model was the lack of Auto Headlamps. So far, this has only been proven out with 2024+ models that came without the auto headlamps which I believe is the base Sport and the NightHawk models.

Did a full Aux Battery delete mod this afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised to see the MOPAR main battery was a East Penn manufacture so hopefully this will exceed the 3 year average life span.

Third time doing this mod and practice makes perfect.

Is there a write up or YouTube video that you think is good for this, one that you particularly like?

Curious about the baxter oil adapter. Looks like it allows you to use a different (standard) strike oil filter. Does the bottom adapter prevent having to torque to a certain spec each time and thus possibly prevent the cracking issue?

I have not seen a YT video that does a complete removal. W@yalife has a video for doing a top down method of doing a battery replacement for both batteries that covers some of what is involved, but it does not remove the tray completely.

Below is a block diagram of what I did.

Baxter adapter had a feature the clamps to the inside threads that keeps it rigid and inplace. If installing a normal can oil filter and adhering to hand tight or 3/4 to 1 turn after gasket contact, it really should not be more torque than the standard cartridge filter cap of 18 ft-bs and should not stress the assembly.

Having just come out of a sport s with slightly oversized (285/75) tires into a stock Mojave (only driven a couple days). The mpg are way way down. 16 v 22 but still under 200 miles so maybe improved later. Point being. If you go bigger stay narrow-ish to keep that sport mpg looking decent. I really like the Nitto Ridge grappers. Quiet, great off road (fl sand), and mpg hit wasn't as big. Those steelies would work with the narrow nittos
Agreed. I recently added the new falcon, wild peak AT4 in 35x11.5 on my 2021 overland. I’m sure I’ve lost some miles per gallon versus when it was bone stock but the ride is so much smoother and better than any other tires I had.
