23 Mojave or rubicon

I purchased a 23 sport to test the waters of the gladiator. It has been a good experience and the better half has decided she wants a gladiator now.

To make things very clear, she will NEVER off-road it and it’s extremely unlikely it will get modified. It will be a commuter vehicle for baseball, football and day trips to the lake. We have other vehicles for road trips.
She has decided for some reason that she wants the highlighter yellow color and I have found a loaded Rubi and Mojave locally in said color. Both have similar rebates and have offered the same trade price.
My question is, knowing the most likely use case, I feel like the Mojave is the right choice for her. But am I hurting my resale vs the Rubicon ? She never gets more than 35-40k on in the 3 years she owns them.

Why not a Sport in the same color? I have a wife that bases 90% of her vehicle buying decisions based on the color and heated seats alone and 10% of how the base vehicle is. Juice is not worth the squeeze buying her higher trim models for stuff she will never touch.

Why not a Sport in the same color? I have a wife that bases 90% of her vehicle buying decisions based on the color and heated seats alone and 10% of how the base vehicle is. Juice is not worth the squeeze buying her higher trim models for stuff she will never touch.

I haven’t had much success finding a sport with the leather, adaptive cruise, led lighting, 8.4 u connect , 110 bed outlet yet. I agree that either of these packages is a waste for her needs, but so is her trade in lol

I’m fully expecting to inherit this after about a year when the newness wears off. In 2 years my sport will be a hand me down to my teenage son as I’ve seen how tough these are in normal crash scenarios

To be honest I haven’t looked that route, I did find a high altitude but it was priced higher than the Rubicon or Mojave. I will look into that. Thank you

I just traded my 20 sport S for a Mojave because of the employee pricing and couldn’t be happier!​

I had a similar decision. Truck is the family DD, technically for my wife.

I wanted a Rubicon, She really wanted Hydro Blue but wasn't sold on a Rubicon or a Mojave. She was more leaning to an Overland. She wanted the 8.4, cross path detection, cold weather package. It had to have the rear fold down cupholders, which meant leather. It also had to ride similar to our Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.

We test drove multiple Gladiators. The one she really liked turned out to be the Rubicon. The Mojave was the next best in her opinion. She liked the creature comforts of the Overland's we saw but just didn't like how it rode.

I found a really low mileage Rubicon but in Snazzberry. It had everything she wanted and more. That's the one we got. She is currently on a trip to MA and commented that it really was as comfortable as the Grand was and she is verry happy with it. She also really likes the Snazzberry color.

Seeing as you are buying new, let her drive all the possibilities, find the options she wants even if it's got things she may never use.

Remember, if momma is not happy, no one is happy.

My Rubicon was awesome on local roads, but on the highway was a different story.
I replaced the shocks and it is much better now.

My point is - do an extended test drive and go buy the Mojave.

We have driven both around town on the not so great city streets and a few miles on the highway and I would agree that the rubicon felt good, the Mojave certainly feels better on the highway.
We’re trading in a 21 cayenne with the turbos and an awesome ride so I convinced her to take the ride with a grain of salt. These aren’t designed to be luxurious but are more capable and utilitarian for daily use. I’m certainly leaning toward the Mojave and the poll is saying the same

Starting to think I trade the sport also and buy both lol. I guess if I pick the wrong one for her then there’s always that option
