Interesting. Do you have a source for this? Perhaps it was in the original link which I admit I didn't read since I read this headline and story about this yesterday and I don't recall seeing info. in that story about mfg. details.

Still not personally interested and I find it highly unlikely they'll get to that price point. If Tesla is struggling to get there I don't believe Stellantis will be able to, even leveraging common parts across product lines.
Some images of Plant 1 coming out of the ground in this one. The site is huge.

Stellantis boss says: $25,000 Jeep EV is coming soon

I am not a fan of EVs,
but at that price point
there should be a market.
Ask Tesla about the original base-model Model 3.
Priced at ~$35k (after tax incentives,) with a range of ~200 miles. Getting range up to the 350 category would add close to $10k to the sticker.
I can just see Stellantis introducing an EV Jeep with shitty range for $25k.

It's not Jeep's technology, it's Samsung's.

A second or third car for commuting, shopping,
running local errands and going to school
does not need much range.
Plug it in overnight on a 110 outlet.
Sure it takes a long time
but you have all night
and you don't need a 100% charge every night.

Batteries will be made in Kokomo, Indiana at a combination Stellantis/Samsung (South Korea) plant.

There are currently 2 battery plants being built on the NE side of Kokomo.
Samsung batteries are in the GC and JLU 4xe. That's exactly what I'd expect, a continued partnership. Samsung also has US plants if I recall and is looking at building more.

It's that final 15% or so that takes the longest anyway. Some actually recommend when travelling don't wait for that last little bit - unplug and go.

Stellantis/Samsung are also building battery plants in Canada.

I believe there are plans for more plants in the U.S.

A small willys style jeep like the first models would be cool like the barebones roxors but all electric with 50-100 miles range. I'd drive the piss out of that to work and back.

My prediction is it will be a handy urban commuter.
A small, easy to park, two door, hatchback,
all weather with AC and USB outlets.

It's been a trend the last few years of companies advertising these EV products and then by the time they reach fruition, it's 2x or 3x the original advertised price. Tesla and Ford both come to mind.

I'm totally cool with 120-140 miles of range if it keeps the cost in that 25k range. That's more than enough to hit the gym and commute to work daily. If I'm actually going on a trip I'd be driving the JT anyways.

It's poor thermal technology I'm concerned about. If they aren't using solid thermal management hardware and software then you end up with a product like the Nissan leaf that has 25 miles of range after 4 years of ownership - THAT would be a problem for me.

My 2013 Nissan Leaf shows about 60 miles for range at 80% charge. The battery pack was replaced under warranty in October of 2017. The replacements were much better than the originals. Mine is still showing above 85% capacity.

These batteries do best when kept between 20% and 80% charge. I occasionally go to 100% to balance the cells, but have the charge timer set for 80%. Nissan took out the 80% charge option in 2014 due to the EPA reduction in range for having it available.

Ride on, thanks for sharing that. I am glad to hear they have improved their packs, and that youre getting a better experience from your purchase.

Teslas are the same...20-80% is recommended battery charge. I just replaced wifes car with a Tesla model Y. Its the tax incentives and Teslas .9% financing that make it work. The home charger cuts a $30.00 gas commute to about $6.00.

I have not kept up with current Nissan EV products. I would hope they are closer to what Tesla and the others offer now, compared to where they started in 2011.

I purchased it as a lease return in March of 2015. It has been a reliable, low cost, and low maintenance vehicle. It's the only vehicle I have ever owned that I feel I've gotten my monies worth out of it.

Don't hold your breath on it being a JL or JT. Jeep covers several models and it will probably be in one of the undesirable ones.
Probably the Cherokee as they're bringing it back, or a version of the Hornet.
