Preface by saying I am a Newbie in the jeep world

Looking for advice/opinions on wheel offset. I have 285/70/17 ko2’s on 2020 gladiator sport S. I like a classic/aggresive look, but this is more daily driver than overlander. Everyone is saying go to level/lift kit and 35’s, but that seems to the lead to adjust gearing etc $$$

any insights are appreciated. Would like to keep the the same tires and would also like to not risk potential damage or noticeable performance change.

Jeep wheels are an empty canvas, you’ll get 19 opinions from 17 different people. Best bet is to go dig through the copious amounts of wheel and tire threads, find something you like, and hit up the owner.

You can look for a set of Mojave wheels which have a 37.17mm offset vs the 44.45mm offset that are on all the other commonly found oem Jeep Gladiator / Wrangler JL 17" wheels. Using the Mojave wheels would essentially be like adding 1/4" spacers (7.28mm = .283"). I currently have them on my 2020 Gladiator Sport with 285/70 BFG KO3''s along with a takeoff Rubicon suspension and fender flares. As an added bonus the Mojave wheels are made in the USA and they feel a bit lighter than the Sport 5 spoke alloys that came off my Jeep. The takeoff Rubicon suspension is definitely an affordable way to go. In my opinion it's much better than using leveling pucks on the front springs or a cheap lift from Rough Country. Personally, it works from me as I'm in a situation where I care for my elderly Dad who has dementia. Unfortunately, I would be able to get him in my Jeep if it were lifted any higher.

Here's a YT video of a Sport w/ the Mojave wheels:

In close to same boat, daily driver of 45 minutes one way. Putting 285/70/17 on soon, but currently have 265/70/17 on so it's not that much of a difference. I'm more worried about when I add the weight of a winch on top of the extra 40ish pounds I added from the bumper I just put on.

But that said I've no plans to do a lift anytime soon, maybe a leveler kit if it sags too much. I may end up getting wheels with bit of a poke to get a more aggressive look. Been looking at fifteen52 0 offset and been offered some MT wheels that are -12mm and haven't decided if wanted the poke or just find me some rubi take offs instead.

Jeep Gladiator 285/70/17 Wheel Offset IMG_20230829_085122830_HDR
with -10 offset. Tires were Cooper 285/70 R17 . Discover ATP II .
Those Tires are great , not sure what Cooper Makes anymore.
I like the Wheels as they are only -10 & not -12 offset

I hope this Helps- Tires measure out as 33" and Dep tread Depth as being in Arizona the Heat Factor in Summer Takes the rubber off . so I always go for a Deep Tread Depth here.

I also have a Sport S and just got Method 701 with 0 offset (I don't like too much poke) and like you its my daily and didn't want to do 35's so I went with 255 80/R17 Recon Grapplers which are 33's but a bit narrower

I did end up buying the wheels I was offered (-12mm offset Classic MT wheels), will have them installed with Falken 285/70/17 Saturday morning. So can update with pictures once done.

Nothing really noticeable in driving. They did have bit of poke at -12mm expected that though.
