Yes… your speedometer might be off a mile or so if you don't program it (not enough to worry about programing it)
You’re really only going about half an inch taller and about an inch wider, everything should clear fine

I did it on my 2021 Willys with the same tire sizes. You are going to want to do the tire size reprogram though if you want to see 8th gear regularly at highway speeds.

285-70-17 is about the upper limit for 3.73 gearing IMHO.

To leach off this thread... I have a texas trail edition being delivered this week. It shows Willy's suspension on the window sticker. Which is the rubicon suspension correct? So does it sit higher than the sport like the rubicon as well?

It is basically Sport springs with the same red body shocks from the Rubicon. Only sits higher because of the slightly taller 255/75/17 tires vs. the 245/70/17 tires on the Sport.

That's what I thought as well from previous years. However, "google" is telling me since 2024, the "willys suspension" also includes rubicon springs. And "the google" also is saying the 24-25 Willys has the same stock ride height as the rubicon. But I have trust issues so seeing if anyone else could verify that lol

I had a 2021 WILLYS and that is what I was going off of. Maybe it has changed with 2024+.

Rubicon shocks should be Fox shocks and not the usual red shocks.

They phased out the Fox shocks starting with the 2023+ Rubicon model Gladiators that now get the Red shocks.

I changed my tires to 265/70-17 AT’s from stock MT’s and it rides great speedo is off about 1-2 mph (reads faster) I’ll probably get it recalibrated. But wider seems better on highway. 285’s probably pushing it on stock suspension.

Trusting Google or Reddit is like trusting a sleep over at P Diddy house and getting drunk then passing out.

Installing the 285/70r17 on shouldn't be a problem or much of a change. I swapped from 245/70r17s to 33/10.5r17 tires on stock Sport S w Max-Tow. Most Jeeps "Wranglers / Gladiators" can fit a tire change of a few sizes up from OEM at a minimum. If not a 35 in sized.

265/70s are shorter than the 255/75. Speedometer reading makes sense.

Yes you can. Your gladiator is probably already set for the correct tire height. There isn't much difference in diameter between the 255/75 and the 285/70. The wider tires won't rub on anything and definitely look better on the factory wheels.

Yeah I have to admit Jeep has done a spotty job with explaining the suspension changes for 2024 as I have a Jeep Beach Edition which has the Willys suspension and I was attempting to get specs and ground clearance info and it was hard to come by.

From all media I've seen, the ground clearance on the 2024 Rubicon is 11.1 inches, Mojave is 11.6 inches, and the Willys is 10 inches. Obviously tire size comes into play here, but those are the stock specs from what I can gather.
