For a Sport I think 3.5in lift and 35s looks great and is what I plan to do once I get mine. I currently have a 2.5in lift and 35s on my JLU and want a little more. Was never a fan of the stuffed look or having a super wide stance you get with the offset needed for going up to 37s or 13.5in wide tires.

I have an Overland and went with the following set up:

  • 3.5” Rough Country suspension
  • 35” Nitto Ridge Grapplers
  • 17” Fuel wheels
The ride is great. For me, I love the look. Maybe I wouldn’t if I had Rubicon fenders, but again for me I love the set up. I am hopeful this will help me off road too but I haven’t had the chance to test that out yet.

Also, for reference I attached a picture of me parked next to a Rubicon (pretty sure it’s stock).

Hope this helps!

That picture pretty much made up my mind. I "Personally" am a fan of a bit more wheel well. With that being said, Is there a difference between the Overland and Rubicon fenders? My Overland did not come with the front fender deflector like the Sport S models have. I'm just curious as to am i going to have a huge gap between the stock bumper and fender if I end up going with the 3.5" lift and 35" tires.

I’m glad this helped.

As for the gap, as others have stated, the Rubicon has a higher fender flare (1.5” I believe). For your overland, I believe you would be happy with the gap that does exists. I did a bunch of research on Instagram and found pictures of a 3.5” lift with 35’s on the stock bumper..

3.5 Rock Krawler lift on 38” Patagonia M/Ts. A little disappointed that the rear is about .5 inch higher than the front.

Any reason as to why you would post a pic of 38's when the post specifically states "35's". Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

isn't that a good thing considering when you add cargo in the bed it will be levelled out with the front ?
