The biggest complaint about Blackstone on the Oil Forums is that they do not really do a proper fuel dilution test and make a guess based off the flashpoint results. Also, while Blackstone claims to follow ASTM standards, they are self certify themselves and carry no independent certification. Also, for those with knowledge or who have used both, any preference over Blackstone for some other company such as what the OP posted? I've got no complaints about what Blackstone did, just curious if there's a compelling reason to pick one over the other.
That being said, I have used them for 25+ years and with the exception of their fuel dilution results, I feel they are still a valid lab that give credible results otherwise.
For my 2025 and the first sampling, I am probably going to break from Blackstone and try Amsoil's "Oil Analyzers INC" .
