I've seen the video.

At no point does anyone say they're sharing a platform.

This is exactly how we get 85 pages on a Hemi Gladiator that isn't happening.
14:35 is when they start talking about it.

Thanks for trying to call me out and blame me for 85 pages I had nothing to do with. 😂

That guy doesn't work for Stellantis.

His, I think they'll probably share an architecture carries a lot of weight here.

I get that you’re lashing out because you don’t want to hear it, but I know the auto industry. I know how they operate. I worked in it off and on for a few decades. Don’t be shocked when they share the same platform. It makes way too much financial sense to share the platform than to spend the money developing the next gen gladiator to work on the next gen wrangler platform. I’m not sure if you remember, but they spent quite a few years developing the JT platform and it was at least a few years late debuting. With the large decline in sales in the Stellantis lineup, they don’t have the cash flow to invest like that like they had when FCA took over. The only way I could see it happening would be if they kept the JT platform and updated it vs developing a new platform for it and it no longer sharing a platform with the next gen JL

I watched the video , one thing Jeep has right is the Wrangler tracing back back 85 years , and anyone in the world can look at a Wrangler and know it is a Jeep, probably less then ten percent of worlds population know what a Tacoma is. Changing the Wrangler to a platform that also fits a typical run of the mill change the look totally every seven years truck seems off. People all consider the gladiator a pickup truck it is but is also with a cap an extended Wrangler, I have no use for a pickup truck , don’t have one , I have an extended Wrangler works great. A Dakota clone will put me shopping other brands again , or more then likely extend my Mojave life , with a refresh and rebuild. Jeep got me to come back over from full size Tahoes and a Sububan starting with the first four door Tahoe in 1995 until I traded in my 2008 Suburban in 2020. If Ford ever decides to do the Bronco based four door pickup , with Gladiator gone , Jeep will lose sales.
Jeep might keep me if they build the Dakota but also offer a Wrangler four door XL based on Gladiator size and ………a 5.7 Hemi!
Jeep is tough to beat off-road , narrow, tough underneath , easily customizable off-road , knock a fender off no big deal order one and put it on , it is an off road vehicle that does ok on road…….Jack

I thought that was always their plan, It was discussed the last time Dakota was going to be making a come back 6 or 7 years ago, that it would share it's platform with the Gladiator.

Those plans got cancelled and seems they have been revised.

It won't shock me a bit to see them share the same assembly line, and a big portion of the platform.

The TFL conversation in yesterdays video seemed to think there is some possibility that that Gladiator might not survive into a next generation.
I believe they said the Dakota was already announced to be slated to be built in the same plant the Gladiator is being built in today. Stands to reason that if there is a next generation Gladiator that it will platform share with the Dakota.

It also would not shock me to see them kill off the Gladiator and re-launch a new truck and call it the Comanche since it would possibly be a lot more like a conventual truck design, like the Dakota.

Yeah, although the current gladiator is roughly the same size as the original gladiator. Since trucks have grown so much. If the brought the Comanche back it would be more like maverick sized since it was the same size/class as the S10, Ranger, etc. they could even make it unibody like the old MJs. I know they had a rear frame section… That was for the XJ/MJ guys.

I’ve got to disagree there. You might not use yours for truck duties, but they are very capable. I’ve owned other mid sized trucks. Two frontiers and a Chevy and GMC and the Gladiator actually tows and hauls better. My current Colorado and my old 2017 Canyon did pretty well, but the Gladiator is more stable when towing and handles 1500 lbs in the bed better. The Frontiers were 2005 and 2010 and were not as good. Very reliable trucks though. My only complaints were the turning radius and they weren’t that great at towing and hauling.

My Gladiator is better at being a truck than my 2005 Silverado was 🤷‍♂️

But that was almost exclusively due to the 3.23 gears and tall ass tires that thing had with a four speed auto.

I had a 2008 Z71, but it was fine with the 5.3l and 3.73 gears. It really woke up after I had it tuned to remove 90% of the torque mgmt. that would be a nice engine in the gladiator. Too bad it’s not nearly as easy as a 5.7l swap.

I low key wish I have kept that truck. I would have eventually did full bolt on's and had it regeared to 4.11s. Mine was only a 2WD. That's been 15 or more years ago now.

Agree to disagree haha! Understand that the Glady is a stronger towing platform them my Suburban was, not as much power but enough and handle’s weight better ,and I had three generations of Tahoe / suburbans with each generation getting less truck like and also lower to ground m, and cringe when I see the latest version with aluminum IFS snd even lower!
They only thing I don’t do that needs pickup is haul stone and mulch but I have 6,000 pound landscape trailer. I have filled rear of bed above the bed rails with firewood have towed my JD back hoe , use it the pull trees down in , woods and have used the winch to pull felled trees out of woods , have had three large kayaks on the rack up top, routinely put my Bosch chop saw in bed with work stand attached and filled with tools while ARB fridge is in there also. My Suburban was the best surf fishing machine I ever had for all 190,000 mikes I had her but the Mojave with the skinny 255/80 Falken tires is much better , much better then the factory larger width Falkens were . I would say I use my Glady like a truck just I got a “Pappy Cap” on the back which makes it fill my needs better then anything I have had . I have put about 500,000 miles on three Ford pickup trucks at work including, my current 2017 F-250 that does work well for hauling up to 3,500 electric motors in it, that my Glady can’t have craned in and out if bed…..what a book!……..Jack

Yeah. They make good surf fishing vehicles too!
