In full disclosure, I’m only in a Gladiator because I traded out of an F150 Super Crew FX4 with the 5.0 Coyote, and wanted a smaller truck, but not with a 4 cylinder turbo. Jeep and Nissan are the only choices that I know of, and I was really surprised how roomy the Glad is (6’3, 230 lbs). I will say that I HAVE taken it on the trails at Uwharrie.

I had a 2004 Mustang SVT Cobra (factory boosted) a few years ago, along with the Coyote truck, and grew up in my dad’s big block Ford sedan, so I’m kinda stuck on V-8’s.

So I need to keep a truck in the family because I actually do a little bit of truck stuff with it, but I surely would like to have a V-8. Kind of shocking that the 5.0 option in the Ford truck was only around $2000 in 2017 when I bought it.

I recommend you go drive a 392 for a long test drive before you plop the cash. I took one home for the weekend as they tried to make the sale and while it was cool and made all the right sounds it wasn't worth the price to me. Its quick but once I regeared to 5.13s I don't lack passing power except towing. If you tow a lot then the swap might be worth it but if it's just to drive it around on the daily I'd really give it some thought. That said if they come out with a reasonable jt v8 I'd trade in just for the extra towing power.

I am also tempted to trade the wife's wrangler for a 392 moab but those are in the 60s not 100s like it used to be.
This is wise counsel for my impulsive self. I don’t tow. I do household stuff with the JT. Haul firewood a few times a year. Move my grown kid’s stuff from point A to point B periodically.

I hear ya, I have about given up on a factory v8 midsize.
I bought another Ranger Raptors last week and put it in line for a Godzilla swap, supposedly I am about 6 months out for my engine/trans swap taking place. I am supposed to be 3rd in line for the swap on a Ranger Raptor. They are already cranking out some Godzilla swaps in Broncos.
I imagine about the time mine is done , Jeep, Ford, Ram they all will reales factory v8 mid-size trucks With full factory warranties etc etc. Lol

The Ranger Raptors look pretty good and I’d be plenty happy with the 400 hp and 430 torques. The Bronco raptor on the other hand. Those look ridiculous with their hastily hacked on fender extensions.

A Godzilla ranger sounds pretty cool though so by all means. Haha.

Yea I am not a fan of the looks of the Braptor either.
If I wanted a 4dr off-road SUV it would without a doubt be 392 Wrangler not the Braptor.

But...but...that one video, he's pretty iffy, doesn't really seem to know much, but he says a new V8 is coming.
SO IT MUST BE TRUE!!!

I see the JT is not offered in Firercracker Red this year. How on earth do they expect me to trade my current Firecracker Red JT for a 392? (when and IF they actually introduce one).

If I trade and come home with the same color and interior, my wife would be none the wiser,
but alas...
