392 Steering Wheel Retrofit

So besides purchasing the steering wheel, paddles, and wiring harness what else do I need to do or purchase software-wise in order to get everything to work?

I realize that DUDE. I read it multiple times and I didn’t really understand what to do to get the shifters to work. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Chillax

There is nothing concrete yet. DC3used AlphaOBD. I purchased that and a new obdII interface, they recommend and I plan on using that of my junk ever shows up

I ordered on Friday from my local dealer/supplier so just had to wait for the stuff to get here from Texas. Now rumored on backorder?

My wheel is supposed to come tomorrow, but it doesn't seem like any local shop wants to do a steering wheel. Guess I may have to send it off.

I was hoping Tazer could just push a magic button and offer us a quick firmware update, but I have everything needed should I buy AlfaOBD. I could probably also use it on client vehicles for gear, tire, and TPMS changes.

Joe says he is working on it. Not sure what that means. I am hoping he delivers, but I went ahead and dove in. For a C note, it is a pretty inexpensive new way to mess up my jeep?

I finally got a quote to restitch the steering wheel. $399+shipping. They have to replace all the leather on the steering wheel because of the style of stitching. That is almost what I paid for all of the items to do the conversion. On the plus side, I could choose to do all smooth leather and get rid of the perforated leather.

My steering wheel came today. Before I shipped it off, I asked about the heating element and was told I would lose that option if the wheel was recovered. I may just have to take a black sharpie to the stitches so they don't stand out.

Don't use a Sharpie, find a fabric marker. It'll be less likely to stain your hands or run if it gets wet.
