Got these a few weeks ago thanks to this thread. I’ve had luck just adjusting the nut so it tightens that last little bit when putting the mirror into position. Then easy enough to loosen when taking them off.

Just tossing a +1 on these mirrors. Snagged some last weekend for a beach trip after seeing this thread and they worked great. Did some highway driving as well (75mph) and they didn’t move a bit. Thanks again for the recommendation.

OK, I'm finally home from TDY and I can mess with this a little. I have some 8mm black coupling nuts (long nuts) from McMaster sitting here. They thread on in place of the conical nuts. The issue I have is they're fully threaded so when they get to the unthreaded portion of the mirror post they stop instead of going over it (doesn't leave enough threads exposed). Tomorrow I'm going to drill out 1/2 of the depth of the threads and they should work. Then you won't need the nylon spacers because the longer nut will extend beyond the recess in the cowl panel. Will update with pics,

Although, doors off is not legal in PA. I will definitely look into these for the summer when I am at the beach.
So you can’t go without doors in PA? Do motorcycles have to have doors?

I don't own motorcycles so I am not familiar with the motorcycle vehicle code. Knowing how backwards PA is they may be required to have doors. In all seriousness there are plenty of discussions on this forum as well as the Wrangler forum regarding doors off in PA if you are curious to search them.

Edited to add: I did purchase these mirrors and have used them this summer while at the beach. I couldn't see the benefit to purchasing more expensive mirrors, especially for the amount of time I would actually take the doors off.

Here you go. It's a cold day in Cleveland so the doors are on. I'm not positive how much of that passenger mirror I'll be able to see from the driver seat without removing a door and testing, but it looks close to where it was when I had it hinge mounted.

Yeah. These Harley mirrors are too short for cowl mount, I can't really see the passenger one, so I went back mounting them in the hinge. I'm sure the longer stem scooter mirrors are fine.

Thanks for the idea, they work great and have a nice clean look! Definitely need some spacers, though. Oreillys has them in stock but only carry 1 in each store so I did a little driving. $8 for 2 mirrors can’t go wrong 😊
