if you got the max tow you will be fine as far as towing capacity. the issue id be more worried about is fish tailing if too much weight is towards the back. you want as much weight forwards the trailer axle as possible without going over your tongue max weight. this will prevent the dreaded fish tail wobble.

Lol. I was not very impressed with the gray wolf quality. I know it’s a tt but damn. I’m very much looking forward to the nobo. The azdel backer the torsion axels, it’s actually the one we wanted last year but could not find. Apparently the plant burnt to the ground on top of Covid.
the issues that it had during walk through were minor. The dump valve needed adjustment on the cable and the furnace had a rattle. Honestly my furnace in my 26djse had the same rattle and I just let it be and it went away after a few uses

I also like the welded aluminum frame on the nobo. The Gw was sticks and tin build.

Oof. Weve been very impressed with the wolf pup. Maybe a different factory or something. Granted its also our first…but its been pretty great. Our first trip of the season is the end of march so we’ll see how it did all winter

Agree. One really wants to keep it 50/50 or in favor of the jeep for weight. So even though it “can” tow 7650, keeping a max tow to 6000 total weight for the trailer is best to keep it down near 80% of the tow rating. Also using a weight distribution/anti sway hitch, like an Anderson, which will shift some to the front axle which will then handle better and reduce sway along with dampening bounce.

Also remember truck in truck out with weight. What do you have going where you are going and what are you bringing back.

The tank weight will work against you if you are boondocking and not at a park where you can dump before you go. If you boon dock you will have gray and black weight going out in addition to any leftover fresh you are carrying as opposed to only having a full fresh going to boondocking/camping. Water is about 8.3 pounds per gallon and most estimate black to be about 10 per gallon.

We found a trailer that meets all the parameters where were “could” put 1000 pounds of cargo in trailer and be within the range of the max tow, BUT I chopped 400 pounds of cargo off because I want to take into account weight in weight out AND staying away from the top of the gross combined vehicle rating. Some forget about that number.

Alsopay attention to after market parts. Those change the payload capacity of your gladiator and affect your gross combined weight.

Towing with any vehicle, including the gladiator, is a true exercise in mathematics and physics to do it safely.

I’m confused did the fresh water gain weight when it was turned into gray or black water ?? If you take 30 gallons with you in the fresh and use it to shit cook and shower then it will weigh pretty lose to the same when it drops into your gray and black tanks …. ??

It was not like it was a total pile O shit. Like you it was our first. If you spend enough time looking at higher quality trailers you will see the shortcomings of the gray wolf line. It was a fine entry lv trailer. Just not built for the long haul. Ours and your were built in the same plant with the same shit. The big things I didn’t like as far as quality were things related to fit and finish. Mostly the fact it was a wood frame. It actually had a crack in the wall panel inside just from the 5 trips down the rd last year. Look at the little things and you will see lol.
the nobo is also a forest River product just like the gray wolf it’s just built with stronger materials. For “ off road use “ .. it’s not the off road trailer they claim it is but it’s durable. The roof has a 500# rating and is fully walkable and I didn’t feel like I was gunna go through it. The gray wolf was a walkable roof but get up there and it was like hmm where are the rafters so I can stay on them…

I also added the sumo springs to my pup and they certainly reduce the wear on stuff above the axle. Give em a look

Got the call today my nobo 19.3 is ready for pickup !!
However I don’t have a truck to go get it. Mine has been down a week for an abs sensor harness. Hopefully I can pick it up next week.

Level is impossible without a WDH and the book says 3500 lbs and above it's required. In my mind any trailer with brakes means a WDH.

Do you happen to know the tongue weight on your camper?

Picked this up a couple weeks ago. I stopped at the CAT scale and it was interesting to see the numbers. The dry weight of the trailer is advertised as 5200 but actual was under 5000. My current curb weight of the JT Max Tow is 5080, no passengers empty bed full gas tank. That of course shows all my add ons (tires, skid plates, etc) added over 400lbs to my manufactures reported curb weight of 4650. That of course reduces my 1535lb payload, subtracting our body weight, 280, gets my payload down to around 825lbs. My next surprise was to check my actual tongue weight which was a little over 600lbs. I attribute the higher tongue weight to have it to adjust my propane tanks forward to accommodate my WD/Sway hitch connections. I considering swapping the battery and propane locations to reduce that tongue weight number…….
