Just my 2 cents worth, but I have the Phoenix SC7862 (8 gig/128 gig) installed in my '21 Mojave and love it. It's pretty much plug and play so the install is fairly easy. I have not lost a single OEM feature that I know of and everything works as it should. OEM mic., front and rear factory cameras, etc. function normally. I do not use Apple Carplay or Android Auto (most folks with an Android headunit use apps they download anyway), but they are both included with the SC7862 if you plan to go that route. If you have factory Sirius/XM and/or Navigation like I did, Phoenix includes an adapter that will allow you to use your factory GPS antenna on top of the roll bar. All in all a pretty slick package!

How does data for the tablet get to the tablet? Like for using maps or streaming music apps from the head unit if you don’t have the ability to use CarPlay or android auto? Do you require to put your phone in hotspot and connect the head unit to your wifi hotspot?

Awesome to hear and thanks for the input. My understanding was the unit directly from Mopar was plug and play as well. The guy that performed the replacement on YouTube recently got his directly from Mopar as well. Nothing else he needed to do other than unplug the old and plug in the new.

That’s why I was wondering if there truly is some difference by buying from Nismopar and spending an extra $400 to do so. Nothing concrete I have found yet that says the unit from Nismopar > Mopar in any way. Was hoping to understand if there was a difference. Otherwise I’ll happily keep an additional $400 in my wallet.
All you are doing is essentially paying someone extra to do the shopping for you. Nismopar is just buying the same radio/parts for you that you can do by going straight to a mopar parts supplier.

This is what I was trying to confirm. Thank you!

Could you post a picture?
Their trim doesn't appear to match the stock trim in color and texture.

Two pictures for you...sorry about the dust on the closeup. I think the match is fine. Texture on the factory trim is dark gray metallic, SC7862 trim is smooth black. Hope this helps.

Cool. That does look better than their pics on the website.

I think it looks fine as the dash is pretty dark anyway.
Are you able to customize the different radio screens some of their stick pictures look really bland.. like the fm radio screen etc?

Thanks for the reply. That's quite an intriguing head unit, but I have been impressed by some of the others as well and after doing the research on them there is usually some thing or things that just aren't the same because it is not a stock radio (boot up time is slow, backup camera doesn't work, etc.). May be little things but sometimes it's the little things that end up driving me crazy. Haven't read anything about this one yet, but maybe I'll take some time to look into it.

Edit: Yup, was just reading about it. Since it is an Android tablet obviously there is no Apple Carplay. Dealbreaker for me since I'm pretty heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem.

You'll still be able to use both Carplay and AA. The radio does run on the Android OS, but that doesn't matter as the radio manufactures add their own software functionality.

By itself android wouldn't work with things like BT audio or talk to the vehicle CAN bus.

I have the IA3001 and the only things I lost are

Compass
Music status on the dash
any Unconnect stuff (with the 7" you aren't missing much I don't think)

The compass is the only thing that annoys me, but from my perspective there is no way I'd pay $1500 for an OEM head unit.

My 21 Mojave came with the 7" and for what I would have paid FCA to upgrade I bought the IA3001 (slightly used, so I paid only $800 for it), upgraded the dash and sound bar speakers and added a sub.

Obviously more work than handing FCA a check, but worth it for me anyway...
