Hello, I have some abnormal wear on the outside lugs of only my front driver tire. The wear is on every single lug, not every other. Some of this is almost like a chunk of the rubber is missing.

I have no lift, these are 285/70r17s bfg ATKO2s I put on my sport. I’ve had a few alignments done and these tires only have any 4,000 miles.

Any idea what is causing

Maybe a balancing issue...
Is the tire pressure higher in that tire? Have you had any work done at discount tire?

I’m not a tire expert, but that looks like bad rubber.

your turning fast.

Do you swoop into a common parking spot everyday because you can do it fast cause you have been doing it for years?

I recall similar wear on my BFG's on my XJ.

That looks like normal chunking from 4wheeling with lower PSI in the rocks. Have you done that ? If so, what you are seeing is pretty normal. Here is a pic of my old Kevlars when I changed them out. Lots of off-roading in the rocks.

Agreed. You can also see some of the same on the shoulder blocks.

Not on any rocks yeah, but I have been off roading at around 17 PSI.

I just thought it was strange that it’s only on the single tire. I suppose this could have happened after one day of off roading but I definitely haven’t been doing any challenging trails.
