Thank you big time for posting all the pictures and everything. This is exactly what I am going through front and rear. However, the axle plug wires in the front are definitely short no matter how many black ribbed push plugs I removed……
Any time. Yours is likely a bit higher than mine in the rear. I haven’t checked that locker cable, but I can’t imagine it’s anything different than copper or aluminum wires. I’m sure there’s a ground, and with the sensor, it could be three others. You’ll know how many when you look at how many pins are in the connector, probably. Sometimes there are more wires than pins if a wire is jumpered to the same pin in the connector. It’s it’s me, I’d order a replacement harness for what you want to extend first, then have one as a spare if it goes bad. The abs cables are back ordered though. :(

That’ll do it. I used the solder heat shrink connectors, but first shrunk the two 18awg wires to add strength between the connections. I then heat shrunk over the solder connectors, overlapping the shrink in between. Then I covered it all with corrugated wire loom. But I REALLY wanted protection. I articulate a lot. I’ve had zero issues. And have done 9+ rated trails several times since the splice. And I’ve got probably 20k more miles on the Jeep.

Thanks for posting this thread! I just installed a 3.5 Clayton lift with HD springs and the wheel speed sensor wire was too light. I wasn’t sure how to address and came across your posts while researching. I spliced in an extension like you all showed.

Any time! Very glad you did it. I did it for a friends gladiator more recently as well. I’ve wheeled the crap out of it and haven’t had a single issue. I think this is the cleanest and strongest method. Not the easiest, but I think the best. Great work. Pictures?

I’ll take some tomorrow - it was dark when I finished but needed it done tonight because I’m testing it out at an off road park in the morning. Here’s one after I cut and before I spliced. First cut was a little nerve racking

It’ll be fine. I took them out and did them on the dining room table. Gettingnthet insulation off is the hardest part. The rest is just wiring.
