I have been envisioning an Ace upper Decker or such with linear actuators on each corner to lift it up for better access to the bed. It would be great to be able to lift it at least even with the roof with the max load limit of the Upper Decker.

Basically I just have the envision in my head and the want to build it. Other than that I have no clue where to start, what is available on the market or what the price point will be if it is doable.

Just figured I would put it out there and see what king of discussion and feedback I could get.

I have been thinking about that too. But a lot of stuff to fix first before getting to the luxury of actuators. I have almost all the parts I need but I will be (a) adding some width with 1/4in AL plates to spread the weight over more of the bed rails, (b) adding side slip stops to prevent the whole upper decker sliding sideways (e.g. imagine having 300Lbs strapped onto the upper decker and hitting a bump in a curve at speed - it will slide sideways unless your closing latch clamps are super tight - and those little latches and button head bolts don't have that much strength), and (c) upgrading the laughably small hinges (will need to include some kind of backing for the bolts so I am not relying solely on sheet metal).

Then adding 100lb struts to compensate for the bedliner coating my upper decker... its a lot of work and when I am all done I might look at actuators but right now I like being able to remove my upper decker easily.
