CrazyCooter is correct! The Exact Center unit uses two opposing gas cartridges. The Safe-T-plus uses two opposed springs. There is no option for directional preload on the safe-t-plus.

However, the safe-t-plus has an integrated hydraulic dampener so it could be use by itself, and it is less likely for a spring to fail vs a gas cartridge, so im kind of torn between the two. I wish i still had a 140lb safe-t-plus to compare, but the exact center works very well.

In my opinion the exact center unit should be used in combination with a hydraulic dampener because a charged gas cartridge has no ability to modulate rate of change.

For all we know, they could have just put a couple of screen door shocks from Home Depot inside of a shiny tube and added the "RoadMaster" tax on the item? :)

Occasionally I feel like i get pushed by tractor trailers while towing. Would something like this make a meaningful difference?
A trailer sway bar will help this immensely and is cheap and easy to install. I use this one. CURT 17200 Trailer Anti-Sway Bar Control Kit , Black https://a.co/d/ccdLolc

im 2500 miles in with this unit and still super happy with it. I took it off to do the alignment and could definitely tell a difference with it missing.

I had one of these before and like it. My current WDH doesn’t have it and I can’t/don’t know a welder to attach the kit you linked :-/
