Not being weird… just millennial talk. I’m just jealous of all your cool Jeeps and now the Land Rover. Enjoy! Hopefully you make your way back home. Thanks, or something? Little weird, but ok
One of the reasons we stayed away. My father in laws Defender he has has been nothing short of a nightmare since he bought it in 2021. It seems like it's been at the dealership more than he's driven it. They really aren't made like the old ones.As a person who has personally owned and daily driven 4 previous Land Rover vehicles... The company now is not like the Land Rovers of old. Back in 2008 when the parent company Tata from India purchased them from Ford everything changed.
If you have never owned a Land Rover before or, if you didn't do a lot of research before your purchase, you might be in for a MEGA shock when you need to take it in for things that need service or repairs. Did they assign you a service advisor? Give him / her a call in a few days and ask what is the expected life span on the brakes and rotors is... and what is the cost to replace them.
Don't be shocked when you need both at only 20-25k miles. (one of mine needed it after only 17,000 miles) Not sure if your oil service is at 7500 or 10000 miles but... That right, by your second or third oil change you will be getting a call from that service advisor saying you need both brake items replaced at all four wheels. COST... Over $3k...
You read that right... if you drive over 25.000 miles a year you will need a $3k brake job every year.
Other services.... Minor oil change service $500... Major service with oil, radiator, axles, fluids, ETC.... $1900... Problems with the air suspension $2-3k per corner... Catastrophic engine failure.... $26k I could go on and on.... but you will soon know the price you pay for buying any new Land Rover product... Good luck!
That sticker belongs on a G wagon, not a defender (unless it's a V8 defender)You MUST add one of these to the rear window!
