AEV Salta XR installed on Willys

Installed a set of AEV Salta XR wheels on my 22 Willys this week. AEV wheels are 17x8.5 with a 25mm offset, so they stick out about 1.25” further than the stock wheels. Looks really good, in my opinion ;-)

I swapped over the stock 255 tires for now. It’s hard to tell from the photos, but it’s definitely got a much better stance than before; the outer edge of the tire tread is about flush with the edge of the fenders. I plan to move up to a 315 or 35” tire when these wear out, as well as installing the AEV 2” spacer lift.

I love them - no regrets. They are very high quality and look great - I get compliments on them specifically. Just the right amount of offset, in my opinion (I don't like too much "poke"). Still waiting to put some bigger tires on them though... too cheap to upgrade before the current ones wear down!

What size tires are you running now with them? I just got a 2025 gladiator rubicon and want to get these but want to run the stock tires. Don’t want it to look silly.

Here is the same AEV Spec size with Method 703. 25 off, 5.77 backspace, 8.5 wide. I love it. 35x12.5 BFG.

This spec/size really helps bring the wheels in and reduces the body throw on the Rubicon and Max Tow wide track 44s.

Your stock Rubicon tires should like fine. Mine, as shown in the photos, are the stock Willy's 255/75 tires - your Rubi tires should be a bit larger.
