Hello all, I have had my Gladdy for a few years now and have not had any issues outside of regular maintenance.

This last week my Jeep has been dead when heading out in the morning to start. I can jump it it fires right up and we are good to go until the next day.

I got the battery tested and replaced the alt battery a few months ago.

Tonight I found that after shutting down the vehicle all lights go out but after 30 seconds or so the lights on the shifter light up then the dash comes on like I just hit the brake pedal. My stereo amp kicks on in the back then everything shuts off like it should and it cycles like this non stop.

I video is to large but I will try to add link to video

There's a TSB for USB and other stuff not shutting down.....but it's mostly to explain that with things plugged in the USB ports can be active for up to 60 minutes (then they shut down regardless of something connected or not)

Otherwise, like already suggested, when you go to check make sure the FOB is waaaaay away from the Jeep. Otherwise it will wake up certain things when the FOB approaches.

Not a fan of auto parts stores battery testing. They toss a device on it and don't give a rip if the battery is over 50% SoC or not, they simply test it.
I'd get a second opinion for sure, but I doubt that it's a battery thing.
I just don't trust the last-week burger flippers to do a real battery test with anything that parks in their lot, charged or not, using a simple hand-held device. It's very limited.

My challenger does this sometimes. I keep my keys in a faraday box. I notice sometimes if I have the lid open and I walk by the car the shifter light and center dash screen will light up and then shut off. It’s the car communicating with the key. Standard operation. Can be prolonged or interrupted if you have a draining usb device plugged in. I had this issue on my charger scat before I sold it, turns out the wireless usb CarPlay device I was using wouldn’t let the uconnect system fully turn off until the 60min time limit kicked in.

Caused a lot of parasitic drain.

The key searching increases the power draw if it’s nearby, if it’s far the car will stop looking until it comes into range again.

thanks all, I am not using the wireless adaptor for android Auto. Need to get one though with the amount of usb cables I run through.

I stopped into three auto part stores today and two out of three said battery is not holding like it should.

I bit the bullet and bought a yellow top so if it persist I will know its not the battery. Weather has been hot as hell or down pours so I will clean evyerthing up and a get back to you in a few days of it sitting with the new battery.

If you changed the AUX battery yourself, go through it all again and make sure all the fuse box connections are good. Make sure the pins are straight, make sure nothing is arcing across contacts.

Necessary only if he did it the hard way through the PDC........ right?

I don't trust auto parts stores to actually properly load test a battery.
It needs to be fully charged, and properly loaded tested by someone that understands test results and not just a "good/bad" printout.
They also need to check each battery independently - not hook onto the main and test.
They'd need to actually disconnect the aux battery ground, test that battery, then test the main battery with the aux still disconnected. Otherwise, results can be skewed as they'd be testing two batteries in parallel - one could be going south, the other ok, and give them mixed results.

That's just one reason I don't trust parts store burger flipper battery checks - they don't usually realize there are two batteries.

I have an almost exact issue but it’s because of something in my climate control (installed radio with climate control integrated). Same thing happens, the dash light stays on and the shifter light. It keeps cycling through turning off and on and just keeps going. Right now I’m pulling the F105 fuse so it doesn’t kill my battery but that makes it so my A/c also doesn’t work.
