Anyone add an aftermarket limited slip differential to a Sport S and want to share their experience?? I'd like to add some traction capability but don't really want to air lockers and not sure if e-lockers are even available yet or fit my budget.

Please let me know thoughts on this, and maybe what to expect cost wise? Thanks!

from my understanding, the only LSD available at this time, is the factory option... :crying:

Ahh bummer, I feared that. Oh well, this is more of a down the road mod anyway. I'll just have to play the waiting game...

It's a Trac-Lok so might as well go with the factory one at that point which very possibly might be the same unit.

I'm still holding out for the Eaton and email them every few months but every time they say it's not even in development.

Ya, good point regarding it possibly being the same unit as factory. If it's the only option by late-summer/early fall next year I might have to bite...

Well....Im bringing this up from the dead I added Spicer gears ro my JT and while I was chatting with the owner of the place I mentioned LSD. He said yukon but he doesn't deal with Yukon any longer. I told him that Spicer had part# 10071926...but I cant order it. He told me he couldn't either.

Was hoping Eaton would create a miracle....but...yeah.

I checked and the 10071926 is still not available "from my searches anyway."

I hope some type of support for Jeeps happen.....one day

Yea seems like we keep running into the same dead ends. The most annoying part is I think you can just add it as a factory option now (might be wrong on that), which is like pouring salt on the wound. Anyway, I hope to regear in the future and would like to add this at the same time, just hoping there are a few options at that point.

I spoke with Yukon and managed to get one of their LSD's. I need to call them. The order bounced around to several warehouses and when it finally arrived the box was beat up and it was a spicer differential with the markings rubbed off. Came bearings and new bolts but the bags were torn and the differential was loose and looked liked it had bounced around on them. I will get pics. I got it for 429, so I may keep it regardless but after talking to Yukon I was expecting great things, not a stock diff.

Here are the pictures. Like I said I need to contact Yukon, it would not surprise me if someone put their stock diff back in the box and tried to return it. The carrier bearings are two different brands.

Well I put it in. Really was not all that bad with Access to a 20 ton hydraulic press. I bought a Motive master install kit. Bearings were good (koyo) the rest sucked abd no shims or bolts. Struggled to get the rear rotors off with 17k on the clock. Wire wheel, heat, penetrating oil and 3 lb sledge got them off. Had to make an impromptu axle puller as mine are all chevy. Once I got the bearings pressed all the way on I used the stock shims and had .0.04 play and great pattern. Torqued it all down and filled with BG syncromesh gear oil. Put 50 miles on it today and pretty smooth so far. Not sure how much improved over the traction control ot is but time will tell.
