@Bestop thanks for acknowledging this thread and asking. The ability to fold it all the way down like the Wrangler would be awesome. Also, a tan color option would look great with the white paint... not that I’m partial for any reason.

honestly just an aftermarket top thats a lower price than the oem $1,800 one. Man bun look, folding all the way down, and anything else, im indifferent...just a less expensive option would be phenomenal! though if i was being picky i think the safari style roof line is silly. A flat traditional looking top would be cool. Kinda like the pictures.

One of my favorite things about my jku was swapping the oem hard top out every spring for my trek top. And then back to hard top for the winter. of any Company out there ive always believed, for tops, we get the most bang for our buck from bestop.

If you leave the rear canvas “L” pieces in, it looks pretty close to this. You can run with the rear window out and those pieces in.

Hey All,
What would you like to see in an aftermarket top option?

Hi again Lee! Just brainstorming:

- I’d love an open pass through from the cab into the soft bed topper you guys are working on. Like one continuous enclosed space.
- I like the premium fabric on the higher end oem tops, but if there’s a way to insulate the tops even more I’d pay for it.
- a flat fold back top like your trektop.

Believe it or not, just for the soft-top. I couldn't believe the price.

Lee,

This, make this top for the JT, and you'll suck more of my money away. I have this top (TJ version) on my TJ, and LOVE it, especially after years of the Rampage top that needed replacement every year or two. I never fully take the top off, and like the full bikini/safari effect just leaving the top on gives, plus the sunrider option it gives... it's a very versatile top... like 3 or 4 in one. I would also buy this with the soft door kit to make going naked even easier.

I like the idea of the sunrider for the hardtop, but I can wait for this option to be made. I didn't like the factory soft-top design, but I do want to go topless (more than just the freedom panels) more often.

Fold down to the bed, no "man bun"
Quick remove/easy store of the entire thing maybe, though if it folds right not nearly as big of an issue.
Easier to remove/install rear window. Its better than zippers, but is not a quick job.
Lower cost than the OEM one for what it is

Is a "bikini" option that covers the gap between the doors and the roll cage that will provide some rain protection without breaking the bank possible? It would be nice to have something that I can keep in the bed and cover up the jeep if there's an unexpected rain shower. This and the hard top would be the perfect combo for New England weather.

@Bestop I'd want your 'Ultra' series tops for the JT. I think that's what most people actually want. I envision the sunrider portion would look just like the existing soft top, with the option for that entire mechanism to slide backwards inside rails to fold against the top of the bed to give the full open air experience.

For those that may not be familiar with the Supertop Ultra:

Bestop, your jl/jt tops look great in the erect position but in convertable mode they look like diapers. Ill stick with my hardtop until you come out with a classic wrangler softop design.

How about a hardtop that once the freedom panels are removed, the rear portion comes apart into 4 pieces for easy disassembly?
