Tell me more...

I have a 400P compressor as my main, it pulls 30 amps at 12v - which is the max the 7 pin can provide if I'm reading this right. I don't think it has an SAE plug on the power cord either, so I'd have to add one and still carry clamps as a backup.

Might be worthwhile to build it. Might not.
I also made sure to add on the SAE conversion kit to the original battery clamps so that I have both options.

"Caught on fire" is one hell of a "bug"
So many of the Chinese knockoffs look like they have 8-10 gauge wire leads, but in reality, more like a 20 gauge wire with 6 gauge insulation. It's not a trust but verify, it's verify before you trust.

ARB Twin in the Gladiator mounted under the passenger seat on a DIY mount. I built a rear seat delete so I ran an air chuck to each side of the jeep under the platform. My motorhome has 41 inch MPT80 tires, so needed a big compressor to handle air downs.

This picture is on my 47 Jeep. It’s about 12 years old and has a ton of use, but still going strong. I replaced the stock air filter with something from Harbor Freight.

For air down/up, I use a couple of quick release air chucks. Going down I use a pencil gauge that will check the air on a standard quick disconnect. To air up, I use a watch and just let it run for the same number of minutes. Get me close enough in all four tires for the trip home.
