Mind letting us in on what you have there? Looks delicious. I'm a big fan of the hazy/unfiltered craft brews and IPA's, and that has a beautiful amber color to it.

Thank you for tuning in and for the kind words! We found our way to the bottom of a couple pales, a hefe, and an amber. In the picture is their hefeweizen, and in my opinion, the best of their offerings during this visit.

That white stuff in the background looks familiar. I believe it use to be called snow!? Haven't seen any in NC this year unfortunately. At least not in the Piedmont area.

Hope you had a beer for all the members here, or a shot??

Truck is looking great!

I think there will be quite a bit of the white stuff around yet. I have over a foot still in the backyard ?.

Pollen season in NC?

I am always on the lookout for an excuse to have a shot and a beer ?

A foot!? Geeze, i haven't seen a foot of snow since I was stationed in D.C. I miss snow on occasion.

Yes the pollen season is upon us. Time for all Jeeps to turn green with envy. ?? Coincides with the warmer Jeep naked weather unfortunately.

Never a bad time for shots and beer!!

Got some garage therapy in this evening.

Prep work on the truss, hit the inside area with bed liner:

Then I chopped up a spare plate to make a bracket to hang the ARB manifold high in the engine bay over the brake booster. I connected up and wired in the air locker solenoids. They're working and ready for the lockers!

I talked to my local 4x4 shop about getting a full size 35" spare for the Jeep, he said just take a plug kit. So I decided to get a 35" spare on my own as I already carry a plug kit.

Here it is proudly mounted in its home until duty calls:

First shake down boondocking complete.

The wife, dogs, and I went up to Eklutna Lake to camp, but couldn't find a way to make it work legally since the camping areas are still gated off. That's one thing I'll say, we want to adventure Alaska, but as respectfully as possible. I saw this decal on a car at the lake, and it was a good reminder:

So we settled for a lake walk and having a refreshment along the tree line:

Camp setup was a little slow for our second time, but we're learning the mechanics quickly. Megan made us halibut cheeks with cauliflower rice and succotash for dinner. We had the pleasure of halibut fishing last summer in Homer, so it was cool to eat an Alaskan fish on the trip. We followed that up with an Alaskan beer and then several more.

The dogs did pretty well. The annex is a great addition to camp. We stayed up and played cards with a small heater and did well with all the enclosed space.

It got chilly in the tent overnight. Mid 30s, 10 mph wind, and light rain. We didn't put the insulation tent in because we didn't think we'd need it with four breathing beings in the tent, but I wish we would have used it. I think it would have put us on the toasty side which would be preferred.

Overall, now, as we sip our morning coffee on the river bank, we're pumped to get out there. Thanks for joining.

Thought I'd share some product feedback.

The Yakima Roadshower was incredibly helpful and held ample water. The trouble is how short the hose is. We had to spray water right around the back of the truck. I'll be adding a longer hose.

The camp chef grill and GSI pots and pans were excellent and cleaned up easily. The grill is just heavy AF.

Our camp chairs are from years past. These style are nice since they have tables built in but they take up a lot of bed space. We'll be looking for other options here.

Overall, the Jeep build is hitting our marks so far.

Great pics and can see y'all definitely loved the trip. I'd love to trek Ak in my jeep sometime. One question though, no snow shows for the puppies? ?

Really enjoying the thread! Cheers.

What a great build thread so far. I enjoyed reading through all the updates. I wanted to ask what gears you plan on going with? I went with 4.88s and it ended up being perfect for 37s.

Going with 4.88s. I'm glad to hear they've treated you well. I think with the added weight and elevation potential, they'll be a good fit.

Thanks for the kind words ?
