I think it is, especially for those wanting a good sound, with some and not a lot of thump, and not intending on upgrades. Like others have mentioned, go to dealership and compare.

Not a lot of room for custom boxes and amps, well ya could always toss the back seat. Then you'll have enough room for some JBL's and a couple ADS amps, AHHH. Sorry, lost in the 80's again. Anyway, then ya can crack that windshield from the inside.

I think my participation in the contests of the 80s is one reason i wear high-tech hearing aids today.
I had to carry an allen wrench and screwdrivers in my Comanche glove box. Now and then the mirror would come loose from the bracket on the windshield and I'd have to tighten up some of the trim and stuff in the cab.

Yup, been there and done that. All in an old 1972 VW Super beetle. Pockets were never deep enough to complete with the newer cars and elaborate custom 2+week installs. But the sound was CLEAN, no noise, even with a generator.

Yes I think it's worth it. I do find the mids and trebblw to be lacking somewhat, but I've adjusted the equalizer to 4 bass, 3 mids, 4 treble.

I think the Alpine Premium Audio is awesome. I also got the bluetooth removable speaker that adds another speaker to the system. It really adds to the enjoyment of driving my JTM.

I totally agree the Alpine setup is worth it --- have had friends that had "premium" audio packages in their JLs that were surprised how good the system in the Gladiator sounds.

Also have the bluetooth speaker... Are you saying that you are using it in-car with the sound system?

Having had both. I'd say yes if you're not a bass head. The added options are great. However if you seek perfect balanced sound with loud capabilities I'd go aftermarket.

LOL - compared to those, yeah, I suppose so. But not compared to almost any other vehicle's premium sound, IMO. It's good, probably the best of Jeep other than the Grand Cherokee, and I'd say my son's Compass sound is a bit better.

✌

I am at the point in my life, if I can crank it -- it doesn't sound like shit -- I am good to go... With that age, I appreciate the bigger screen so I don't have to use my glasses. ;)

My Wife's Infiniti SUV has a Bose system ( I know the joke -- no highs, no lows -- it must be Bose) that is fantastic.

I think the biggest issue with the Gladiator is the space/cabin acoustics. To overcome that, you'd have to pour some cash into that. Not my thing... I'm interested in other mods. Besides, I like to keep Angus naked as much as possible -- that changes everything with respect to sound.

Agree - at this point it's the screen size. Even my wife insisted on the bigger screen when I was originally looking at Sport. She said "you know you need the bigger screen"
And yes, a fiberglass top ain't exactly the Albert Hall.

To me, it sounds incredible compared to my past TJ and JK… but it’s not audiophile quality or rattle your neighbors windows loud if that’s what you are looking for.

Value wise, I think a comparable DIY custom install could probably be done for $1300 or less. Anyone can buy $1000 worth of equipment and slap it in, but it’s not likely to sound great unless you know what you are doing or at least be willing to learn. Forget about it if you have to pay for a custom install… that is going to cost far more than from the factory.

Really, it’s worth is all relative to our own experiences. The only way you’ll know for sure what’s right for you would be to go drive one with and one without.

If I remember correctly the manual says when it's snapped into place it is a vehicle speaker. I haven't folded the seat down and verified that.

I will check that out -- hadn't notice a difference in the sound system when the speaker is in/out. But, in all fairness, I wasn't listening for it.

Thank you.
