If you are considering buying a set of Amp electric steps for your Gladiator, be aware that they are changing the step motors on them. They are no longer making the Bosch style motors, and are changing to a 'Brose' motor. If you were to order a new set of steps right now, you would Very Likely get a leftover kit with the old motors and be effed if trying to replace them. Right now, Amp's answer to warranty issues is to just send you an entire new step kit. Not sure if you can mix-n-match kit parts. But if you just try to buy a replacement motor on the web, good luck they are unobtanium. I was told that manufacturing was to begin 'early in July' with the new motors.

What makes you think the original ones are somehow defective?
I‘be had a set on my F-350 for ten years and they work great. It could be that the newer version is cheaper and possibly not as good…

Only saying the earlier version motor cannot be replaced with a new motor. A casual search will provide background w/ irate people who can't fix their running boards. Those motors were used on many other platforms as well.
