It's been my experience as a new Jeep person that the hardcore wheelin rock crawlin Jeep lifers are far more toxic and judgmental than the pavement princess mall crawler types. Gatekeeping is the perfect term for it. Just look at how angry they get over some stupid ducks.

What gatekeeping? No one, not one single person has said "you must be this tall to ride/have ducks." The closest anyone has gotten to that is "Thanks, but that's not for me. You do you, but please don't include me."

Every enthusiast type scene has their niche circles with various barriers of entry to them and the same asshats.

The only Jeepers that deserve ridicule and banishment is Angry Grille owners.

I can see that from some. I am not a duck guy or a wave at every jeep kind of guy. i bought my jeep to off road in and enjoy the outdoors. i did not buy one to join a cult or give out ducks. so when someone approaches me with the Cult attitude i try and be polite but they know to leave me alone.

Now if you want to talk about aftermarket parts that perform better off road i am all for it. just don't talk to me about accent colors or angry grills and ducks just because i own a jeep. If i get a duck i give it to my daughter or since she has a ton i take it and set it out 200 yards or more lmao.

The "hard core wheelin rock crawlin jeep lifers" probably feel that way too. just a different side of the jeep realm and are no different then the Duck crowd. This battle will never be over and no side is right in my opinion. just don't get mad when someone doesn't agree with you.

Society, in general, has become very divisive. Politicians encourage it and try to use it to their advantage. No longer will many accept that you don't share their opinion and move on. They feel it necessary to try and convince you to believe the way they do, and get violent if you don't accept their way.

Yesterday I saw a group of MiniCoopers, half of them had ducks on their dash.

As the owner of a MINI and multiple Jeeps I seem to attract ducks.
There was a time that I actually liked the little things but this was many years ago.
I have since changed my ways.
They are cute when kept out of the weather but..
My kids brought quite a few up to my camp and let me tell you, they don't weather well and can turn black and disgusting with age.
In this era where microplastics are finding their way into everything why would you want to promote such anti-environmental behavior to people who preach responsible off-roading?
