I just did a complete install on my 24’ Willy’s w base stereo. I bought the pods and installed a 5 1/4” component set w / 1” tweeters in soundbar. Removed all soundbar baffling and packed with poly fill and foam to tighten up the channels inside. Also put some sound dampening mat inside. Pretty easy just beware of the airbag equipment right along the cross brace above the soundbar. They are paired with a 3 way component set in the front with 6.5” in knee pod, 3.5” in dash and 1” tweets surface mounted to dash grill.

Did you have to enlarge the holes for the speakers?

Yes. Stock speakers in sound bar are 3.5” and 1”. The adapter kit comes with a template for 5 1/4, 5, and 6.5 size speakers. And new grills. It’s not a hard diy. Took few min with a Dremel. Believe the Metra kit was @ 160$ for both sides. I can get you the model number later if interested. Actually just got them for my wife’s 4xe jlu

Thank you, but I already have the kicker speakers and I’ll be installing them weekend after this one. I have the Alpine system so a different setup in the soundbar.

Nice. Try and get yourself some poly fill of sorts to stuff the cavities. There were also tubes inside mine that were supposedly for better sound production l, but with upgraded speakers a tighter sealed cabinet will yield better sound. Soundbar speaker’s definitely help out but not to the effect of the front speakers did. Hope all works out well for you. Just remember IF you have to remove the whole sound bar by chance there is airbag stuff if you have them on yours. I had 2 long skinny cylinders tucked above with all the wiring for the side curtain air bags

Thank you for the info! I would hate to trigger an airbag.
I already replaced the dash speakers and got a nice upgrade to sound.

Sweet. I had to mess around a little with mine as the 1” tweeter and 3.5 mid were a bit bright sounding due to windshield reflection. But tinkered with crossover points a bit and toned it down. Also had to turn amp down a bit as it is overpowered for the speaker setup but I already had from a previous build. Keep us posted once all is done. Curious how they will sound with the stock Alpine amp setup.

I'd be interested in part# for pods that allow the 5.25 or 6.5 speakers in 2024 soundbar, assuming that was the item that comes with new grills too?

Thanks,
Jim
