If you can pull 80 amps through it without blowing it, you have the 100 amp fuse.
On second thought, maybe you'd better not try that.
😁 ;)

Yup - there's likely no visible markings without pulling it.
On the other hand, you have done much tougher things on that truck, much more challenging.

Wow,. that was quick.
But you have a 2021. Maybe it was a mid-year change?
Good thing you checked.

You could always sell that one to someone who has the base fan. You could recover some costs and they could save a bundle.

Yeah I'm just demoralized from the leaking rear window. Lol.

Whew, I thought damn, he's FAST! Got those nuts off and the wires pulled back and the fuse removed in like 2 minutes - and took a pic! LOL

In any case, good to check yours because we can only speculate as to the date the change was made, and whether or not they are doing like AMC did (and likely others). The parts book said for alternators - 'use xxxxx for replacement" meaning that it didn't matter if you had a 35, 40 or 55 amp alternator - if the dealer had a 55, use it to replace any alternator up to that size - AMC would reimburse. It reduced stocking costs to keep just one as a replacement.

Fan wire Z5 on right, next to Z6 which is 125a. Seems legit? Looks like all I have to do is install the fan. I will try it on the 180a alternator and see how it goes.

Will you be also doing the Mopar high output alternator - part number 56029803AA ?

Or only if your current one is not up to the task?

I think you should still check your fuse array it might be a crapshoot which one you have. Obviously make sure you know how to disconnect both batteries

Mine is a 2022, but I will still check… better safe than sorry.

I went ahead and ordered the fan (Mopar 68272755) for now.

They may buy out dealerships going bust, merging, whatever.

If it's new then it can't be a take-off from a dealership or shop that upgraded or otherwise pulled it off a vehicle, new or used.
Can't sell any part that has been installed as "new" so look for belt wear, marks where bolts and nuts go and so on.
And it had better not be "reman" - can't sell those as "new" either although a lot of places do.

Generic box is interesting - if it's brand new stock, why isn't it in an original box? From a business that's been in a flood?
Heck, I have 4 NOS (new, old stock) alternators still in the original Motorola boxes from the 1970s so I wonder why - generic packaging?
