Don't you just loosen the bolts on the door, lift the door as much as you'd like, and tighten?
Please don’t do this. Adjust the striker on the door frame if anything. But if it was at a body shop, take it back and let them fix it.

The work was done over a year ago. I spend most of my time with the doors off so I really didn’t notice it until just recently. The door is off. When I close it the striker lifts the door up so that the gaps and lines all line up when it’s closed. There’s no adjustment in the striker
The body shop installed the hinges wrong. That sucks.

Yes, if it fits correctly after on the striker, then the hinges are adjusted correctly.
He doesn't want the adjust the striker to fit the rotten fitting door - apparently the striker was not moved by the body shop and that makes sense.

that is pretty much what the instruction in the boxes said for the factory half doors (I have a dual door group) first fitment I was supposed to adjust them, but I didn't and they were ill fitting all last summer, read the instruction one day when I was without the inter webs and early for something adjusted them the next summer work perfect
I will scan the instructions and put it on here

Yeah. It's door alignment 101. Get it fitting the opening correctly first, then IF you must adjust the striker but over the years and with many cars/trucks, the striker is almost never the problem. The hinges are. (be it from wear, distortion or just plain misadjusted)

The door lines up when closed so adjusting the striker is definitely not the answer

That’s what I’m thinking. And if the bolts weren’t painted I’d have no problem trying to adjust it. I’d hate to get the door adjusted just to have it look like crap because I messed up the paint on those bolts. Wonder if I could find a soft or non-marring torx socket?

The factory half doors Require you to adjust them the first time and are painted, full door are the same, absolutely no issue. The only issue you may find is if your body shop painted the bolt or hinges in

in fact the factory manual says not to adjust the striker

here is the half door manual as promissed

It certainly makes sense that if you might be switching back and forth you would not want to make any adjustments on the cab side of the equation!
