I'm new to the truck/jeep world. I'm getting ready to upgrade my wheel/suspension setup. I'm looking at 315/70/r17 cooper at3 xlt tires (~35") on rocktrix rims. The rocktrix rt105 wheels come in 17x9 with both a -12 and a +12 offset option. I noticed on other threads, people show that the back wheels stick out less than the front. Has anyone run the negative offset on the back and positive on the front to give the truck an even look or is that not a thing? If not, are people putting spacers on to even them out, or is there a reason to keep the backs in more than the front?
TIA

They will stick out the same front and back if the offset is the same. The fenders stick out the same amount front and back on jeeps. Might just be an angle thing

Ahh okay! Thanks for confirming that! ...going to go with the -12 then ??
Here is 0 offset. -12 will stick out about a half inch more. I gotta get mine covered up with flare extensions soon. It's throwing mud all over my jeep.

what would you do about rotating the tires? Swap rims each time?
I would get all 4 rims with the same offset and be done with it

Thanks for the pics! Oh yeah, I might have to throw some mud flaps in the cart. Good call

Yeah I guess rotate the fronts and the backs, but after confirming they are actually the same, I'm just going to go with the -12 offset all around.

The difference that you're referring to is related to lifting trucks with IFS. The lift components in the front of the truck push out the wheels but the solid axle in the rear does not, so that will require a spacer on the rear to even it out.

ooooooh, that makes sense. Okay, so I should get a spacer for the back when I put the Clayton 2.5" lift on. Do you have a recommendation for one/how big/etc?

You don’t have an ifs so no spacers needed. Buy all 4 rims the same and move on with your day.
