There are more than a few to sell (23k) and many are still in “transit”.

Not sure why they make so many and over saturate the market - there will be deals to be had if your patient.

What's the fascination with power seats? I set my driver seat when I bought the car 5 years ago and haven't moved it. And they are slooooow compared to a lever if you need to lay the seat all the way back or forward.

And more wires.

I normally dont want or need power seats but the way these are designed, when I get out of the truck it always pushs the height adjuster down. If you never mess with the height, than it wont be a big deal.
Hop up, or use a step on the side steps - don't slide out.

Bingo

The end of a MY, especially before a refresh, is a great time to get amazing deals

I can get in my truck multiple times a day for weeks and never touch that lever but getting out.... if you don't want to pull out your back or look like a weirdo getting out of your truck ass first then it's inevitable my tush taps that lever down a touch each time. I may try to figure out a way to put a physical lock/block on the lever.

And as to why jeep doesn't have electric seats, it may be that you don't find hardly any electronics of that nature down low due to water fording depths.

Right now, JT is the only vehicle with employee pricing, Jeep is pretty good at keeping secrets, I'll create a slight breach of etiquette by assuming they are trying to clear lots for the introduction of the Hurricane inline six for 2024 or 2025.

new Colorado
New Tacoma
Ranger Raptor
lots of new “others” have announced…

Gladiator product backing up…..

they need to bring more than a bigger screen and electric seats…. To up the buzz

…. I predict it’s Hurricane or Hemi time for a some what limited halo type package… to bring them back quickly into the conversation

If they drop a Hemi in the Gladiator, the cash I have set aside for the transplant will be spent on a factory optioned model.

Agree, to a degree. To keep up with the latest from Chevy and Toyota, I'll be surprised if the '24 doesn't get the XR package. But I don't expect a proper halo package like 392 or Raptor-fication.

As others have pointed out, gotta keep in mind that while the Colorado and Tacoma are a big deal to the revenue of Chevy and Toyota, FCA/Stellantis has always said their expectations for the JT were more niche-level.

In line with your train of thought, I almost think it's better to view the Gladiator as a sub-model of the Wrangler, rather than looking at it as though it's own independent thing. Everything makes a lot more sense once you do that.

I saw this last week and tilted my head like a dog hearing a whistle. 23,000+ available Gladiators (?!?!).

My question to the forum, as a buyer on the sidelines waiting for something good but not in a rush-- and knowing the auto show in Sept might answer questions-- with that many available Gladiators at the end of 2023 (model year wise), think it makes more sense to buy a 2023 Gladiator before a potential 2024 refresh is announced with the employee pricing etc (bird in the hand), or wait until the 2024 is both announced and available for sale, with the expectation that they won't be able to sell 27,000 of them and, at that point, should (?) have greater price discounts to clear them (knowing they pay insurance for each one while they sit on the lot)? The added benefit to this also being maybe there's a 4xe (which I'd want for personal reasons vs financial) with help of the full float (Shadow Papas, I've read all your posts and can't argue with them) or surprise bikini or earl etc.? Like, I can't see a reason to buy now unless you really need to buy one-- they can't make the 2023's more expensive, can they? Would they? (financing interest rates aside). Or the way the little voices in my head are saying it-- "you're a fool to wait!" vs "you're a fool to buy!" :)

No matter which way you lean, you'll always have those "little voices" casting doubt. Just human nature. And you'll always find someone here to support either direction, so that's not much help.

Opinions are like...well...you know...everyone's got one and some smell worse than others!

Too many people look at a vehicle purchase in terms of building some sort of equity or return on the purchase price if they time it just right. Like it's a stock buy or something. The reality is it's nothing like that, and trying to debate those types of things on the purchase of a depreciating asset will drive you mad. Of course nobody wants to be taken to the cleaners, but all that's needed there is a little market knowledge to put up against your purchase. Forget the "what ifs" and trying to predict the future. This isn't the stock market.

In the end, it's all about you and your situation. If you're comfortable waiting, then wait. If not, and you like what you see now and are comfortable buying now, then buy now. It's a calculated gamble either way. And nobody can see into the future, no matter how hard they try to convince you they can. The only thing that's true is that it's up to you and your needs/comfort level, and in that regard there's no wrong answer.

I am in the same boat. My lease on my 2020 runs out in December, and as it's a non-max tow Sport S, upgrading is very tempting. It was more tempting when interest rates were 2%, but it's tempting again now that dealers are openly advertising $10k off MSRP of 2023's.

I think we'll have the answer very soon. The rumor is that '24 updates will be announced at the NAIAS in Detroit, which kicks off on Sept 13.
