Just an educated guess, but I think by the end of this year you will get a screaming deal on a 23 - they will have to get rid of them - my little local small town dealer has eight new ones on the lot right now.

That's what I'm thinking. Seems like there's no way around it, unless they say there's no 2024 or something (eg, delayed release of 2024's until mid/late next year) to keep the supply/demand in check.

I've not read though this thread so it may have been posted already. The American auto mfg union has voted on and approved to start a strike. Stellantis one of top companies named. So ???

With stellantis discontinuing the hemi in the cars, I think they will start to phase it out in the trucks too. Everyone seems to be ditching the V8s for turbo V6s or hybrid power.

There is a glut of Hemi eTorque Ram 1500’s at the 4 dealers near me.

Sigh, but good for them.

So now the question is do I want a covid supply chain problem Jeep or a UAW strike jeep. That’d certainly be good for maintaining prices while also making union boss look good.

Looks like the 24 Gladiator and Strike could start / happen on the same day. Interesting.

I saw this last week and tilted my head like a dog hearing a whistle. 23,000+ available Gladiators (?!?!).

My question to the forum, as a buyer on the sidelines waiting for something good but not in a rush-- and knowing the auto show in Sept might answer questions-- with that many available Gladiators at the end of 2023 (model year wise), think it makes more sense to buy a 2023 Gladiator before a potential 2024 refresh is announced with the employee pricing etc (bird in the hand), or wait until the 2024 is both announced and available for sale, with the expectation that they won't be able to sell 27,000 of them and, at that point, should (?) have greater price discounts to clear them (knowing they pay insurance for each one while they sit on the lot)? The added benefit to this also being maybe there's a 4xe (which I'd want for personal reasons vs financial) with help of the full float (Shadow Papas, I've read all your posts and can't argue with them) or surprise bikini or earl etc.? Like, I can't see a reason to buy now unless you really need to buy one-- they can't make the 2023's more expensive, can they? Would they? (financing interest rates aside). Or the way the little voices in my head are saying it-- "you're a fool to wait!" vs "you're a fool to buy!" :)
Replying again with a new tidbit of info.

Talked to a dealership yesterday about a juicy deal they're advertising on a Max Tow. The guy was actually a Jeep guy himself (has a '22 JT Willys), so he got what I was saying about the '23/'24 changeover situation and the current incentives.

He said to keep in mind that the way the factory incentives work, is that after (or towards the end of) an incentive period, Stellantis looks at the sales to see how much the incentives "moved the needle." Then the next round of incentives will be adjusted accordingly.

So, say if these current incentives cleared out a number of Mojave's they're happy with, the next round might not apply to them. This is pretty obvious once you think about it, but I had never really thought about it before.

It helps the dealer, because they can say, "we don't know what the next incentives are, better jump on 'em now!" but that really is the truth.

Got it. Unrelated, but related, once the 2024 Tacoma is on lots for sale, that'll hurt Gladiator sales somewhat, because I can't be the only Jeep person who does see value to what Toyota's cooking up, and at a lot less money if history is any show. Jeep has their head up their ass-- $105k for some of those Grand Wagoneers and $70k for a Rubicon 4xe Wrangler? Unfortunately, quality often goes down before prices do, then they can spend less to build fewer. It's like the end of a movie finale w/ the upcoming strike deadline, the auto show, and all the unknowns. Where's the popcorn??

On that token, though, look at how much the Tacoma guys have to spend to upgrade their truck to match what the Rubicon offers off the line. There's value in those things coming integrated from the factory, and that's one of the great places where Jeep lives and thrives.

Plus could you imagine trying to take the top off of a Tacoma??

I've got a badass JT so I couldn't care less what they do. I'm in this thing for the long term. It's going to take a lot more than a V8 and a big screen to get my attention... aka: decent pricing... and we all know that ain't happening. I have my flat-plane crank V8 fun car when I want a thrill but honestly, I get more thrills (and looks/comments) in my Gladiator so whatever.

Just for kicks I went to the local Jeep lot today and the salesman said four of their Gladiators were about to have a birthday on the lot; one year unsold. He said they can’t give ‘em away even with the employee pricing etc., was $65k now $57k kinda thing. Good time to buy (maybe better on the way but good is good!)

Watched a video the other day where they interviewed some Stellantis execs including the CEO. They are very disconnected from reality and it's almost scary. The CEO believes that their high prices are justified and people will buy them at those prices once they sit in it. Nevermind whether or not the customer can afford it or wants to spend that much; it basically sounded like their whole model is based on just getting people to sit in the vehicles and they will buy. Of course, what else can you expect from a CEO who pockets millions a year in salary? The UAW is on the right path for sure.
