I've been going back and forth on if i plan to do this mod. I have stopped dragging so much since i finished my lift. I also relocated the spare into the bed so that bought some more clearance. If i can find a bumper that wraps around to provide some side protection and also has a receiver hitch behind the license, i may go this way. I like the looks of this one but wouldn't do the tire carrier. https://www.relentlessfabrication.c...-gladiator-rear-bumper?variant=39889299243143

The box size sucks, but if a guy was using it for a dedicated offroad rig, ?

Love the look, but I use my JTM as a truck

If someone does this then they should have just bought a wrangler unlimited and saved their $$.

“just got a Jeep truck!”

“cool, what are you gonna mod?”

“I’m gonna cut off the part that makes it a truck!”

?

I've got one en route to me right now. I ordered the bed rails, tire carrier rack, molle panels for the tire carrier rack and receiver hitch. I'm going to put some lockable boxes of some sort on the molle panels. I'm 99% convinced that I won't lose any cargo space, it will just be reconfigured.

Keep in mind that I am currently running a Diamondback cover with my spare strapped to it with a Y strap, so I've been confined to the height of the bed cover anyway. I THINK what I lose in length, I will gain back in having more height and storage outside of the bed.

I'll make sure to update my build thread as the process happens.

I'd rather have the Wrangler with a Scrambler conversion

Seeing as how I've got both... you, sir, are completely full of it.

Do you know how nice it is to be able to keep stuff out of the cab that doesn't belong in the cab? Fuel, chemicals, garbage (leave no trace), noisy ass tool boxes... I guess if you don't get out and use your Jeep, you don't have a need for any of these things.

I've also come to realize that the longer wheel base of the JT helps more often than it hurts when we, I'm sure this is foreign to you, actually wheel our rigs.

The longer wheel base of the JT is SOOOOOOO much more comfortable on road trips, especially with the triangulated 4 link in the rear.

Not to mention, the few thousand-ish pounds difference in towing capacity between the two.

I think you should have bought a truck that's better at being a truck <-- You see how dumb this sounds?

All that being said, MOST Jeep owners modify their rigs and everyone has a different approach to it... I am absolutely certain that if there was a right way of doing this whole Jeep thing, it wouldn't be your way.
