Interesting thread, I came here with the same question. I'm debating on selling my fully loaded 2015 F150 for a base sport Galdiator with a manual transmission and non-power windows. Hoping to get an even trade. I just test drove one for the first time today, I was impressed with the handling and power, and it was a lot of fun to drive. The only things I didn't like was the push-to-start button, the center console is kind of in the way for shifting, there is no foot rest when your not on the clutch, and although the back seats fold up there is no storage room with the built in cubbies. Other than that the bed is not MUCH smaller, and the payload is close. I don't tow anything anyway. The inside cabin is so much smaller, but at 6'1" I don't feel cramped at all.

Basically I'd be giving up all the bells and whistles like an autostart, heated seats, power outlet, heated mirrors, and power everything. These things I don't REALLY care for anyway...I was just as happy in my beater Honda with rollup windows and no A/C.

Other than missing the extra interior room for car seats in the back seat (F150 would've been fantastic for that), I also went from F150 --> Gladiator with manual transmission and I have 0 regrets. Granted, I actually liked the little 2.7 EcoBoost, wouldn't mind a powerplant like that in the Gladiator with a manual transmission :D

I sold my 2017 F250 Super Duty King Ranch and went down to a Mojave. I don't miss the shear size of the Super Duty and being I never really towed anything worthy of it's power the Gladiator will do just fine.

Last year my 2018 F150 was totaled after being rear ended. Looked at replacing it with another F150, but just loved how the Diesel Willys Gladiator drove and responded over the newer F150s. While I liked the cab room, 18+mpg, and the depth of the F150's bed, I always felt like I was driving a boat. It parked like one too.

While I do occasionally miss the roominess of F150's cab, I absolutely love my Gladiator.

only fullsize truck I really had (other than old Chevys that I really didn't get to keep around very long) was an f150 and the ONLY thing I miss is the power. The gas engine in the gladiator is just underwhelming.
Hell, I had a 2006 Nissan Frontier v6 and it felt like it had more power than the gladiator.

Ram 2500 to Gladiator, at first I felt cramped and missed the power of my 6.4 but I’m glad I made the transition overall very happy.

I went from a 2012 GMC Sierra WT to a 2023 Gladiator Overland. The WT doesn't have any options except for heavy duty cooling its just as it states a work truck. I installed leather seats in it but that's all.The Gladiator is my first mid size truck and the size is great for me.I didn't need a full size truck anymore for hauling but I am keeping it to use in the winter for snowplowing. I just bought the Gladiator a week ago but I wanted one since they first came out. So far no regrets besides its a blast to drive.

Ive owned 2X Megacabs, a Ram 2500...all diesels. and a gasser 1500. I dont regret it one bit. Love the gladiator. Although it doesnt have the towing capacity of a full size diesel, its a lot lighter and can just float over stuff. Super capable vehicle. Lot more nimble. And smaller to get you down some narrower trails. I actually wasnt sure id like driving it much, but wanted the freedom to get off road, and it actually drives surprisingly well.

I am currently the other way aroud. My Gladiator is in the shop awaiting a new wiring harness (coming after the strike is over, I'm sure) and my dealership gave me a '21 or '22 RAM 1500 to drive in the interim.

I am missing that tighter turning radius and better fuel economy (I get around 20 MPG with my Gladiator and this truck only gets around 17 MPG bopping around).

Plus, I LOVE my Gladiator and miss her ☹

It's interesting to read the various perspectives. For me going to a Gladiator Mojave was like moving to a Rolls Royce. I'm used to stiffer suspensions, loud induction noises, loud exhausts, and general road noise. I truly feel like I'm driving a Bentley.

Kept my Gen 2 Ram 1500. The JT is similar in many ways. Both have a solid front axle and manual transmission. Similar dimensions except the Ram is wider. Similar weight, power / gearing, tow ratings. Hope to use the old Ram for bicycle transport once I get it going again, and its slightly longer bed is sometimes useful. Big enough for two to camp under the cap. Has the common intake vacuum problem right now. But the back seat has no headrests, so it's not all that safe by today's standards.

The JT manual transmission is sportier than the old long handled NV1500. Great fun to drive in the mountain switchbacks. The old truck has been all over the country, usually pulling the camping trailer as well.

Keeping both because my kid will be driving in a few years. I shall insist that he learn stick.

I went from a 2021 full size GMC 3500 Denali to my 2021 Gladiator Mojave. I did Overland trips in both. I'm happy with my decision to down size. Way cheaper fuel, smaller around town and easier to take off road. But to be fair, I do miss long distant trips in my Denali. The Gladiator is okay on trips but not as comfy.

Traded my 2014 F150 supercrew for a 2020 JT Sport, the only thing I really miss is the AC seats in the Ford.
