I know this is really, really old but I was just wondering if when you cut off the resonator which had a hanger bracket was the remainder of the exhaust system still nice and tightly mounted. I guess what I am asking is the hanger just for the resonator. Lastly, are you still happy with the mod?
The exhaust was still very secure after removing the resonator. I never noticed any significant movement or rattling from it. I did enjoy the mod due to just cleaning up the area underneath the bed.

I removed the front muffler, which is a straight-through resonator, on both my 2020 and 2022 Gladiators. I did not notice much/any sound difference on the 20 but do get some growl with the 22. I did it for ground clearance, not sound. I cut the muffler off close to the body, and had a muffler shop expand the ends of a 25 inch piece of 2.5" pipe to 2.58" ID.

Mine is cut the same way and I have no issues. I only cut it to remove the stock exhaust more easily when I put my AWE exhaust on. Recently swapped back to the stock exhaust and after a few weeks Ive had no issues running like this.

You can actually hurt the performance by removing back pressure from a gas engine. Then there is the possibility of a drone at certain conditions. I think the 3.6 is tuned to its max from the factory.
