Looking for something in the $6-700 range and came across these from Westin. Company been around a long time even though I assume these are imported.

At first I was looking for the Mopar Performance Rock Rails, but they are getting almost impossible to find. Not looking for anything fancy and doesn't have to be a bulletproof rock rail/slider as my JTM isn't going to need extreme rock protection.

I was gonna say, the bracket mounting I see in the instructions doesn't look super bulletproof to me. But hard to say without seeing in person. I haven't tracked prices closely but this seems reasonable?

The other option is watching nearby craigslist/FB sales for take-off Mopar rails. these usually go for very cheap when they come up

The Mopars may or may not be worth waiting for. I very recently purchased mine and a local Jeep dealer had the prior ones in stock. The newest performance rails are ordered based on vehicle color and weren’t shipping yet. I looked at the screen and it just looked like color matched end caps but they thought it might go beyond that.

The Mopars keep some of the mud and rocks off. They work as a ledge to access roof or get in the bed when launching boat. They are 83 year old mother approved as a step to get in. I pick her up to go jeeping all the time and she struggled to get in before with the factory rock rails. The coating on them is very rough on the legs when wearing shorts and look forward to replacing them when the lift and tires go on (I don’t need the step while stock).

Hm, now I'm confused. Which Mopar rails are we comparing to here? These OEM low-profiles that come on the Rubicon and Mojave?

Or these HD Mopar non-OE rails that kick out a few inches?

or these Mopar tubular side steps?
https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-tubular-side-steps-82215609ab

or the molded plastic ones?

Looking at the picture on the link there looks to only be two points of connection to the body/frame. It's kind of hard to see without the hardware but if there is truly only two mounting positions I would run away...if your trying to combine a rock rail and side step its difficult.

Doesn't look like there are many mounting points. For a couple hundred more you could get a set of heavy duty sliders from rockhard. I want to say there are 12-16 mounting bolts per side. They are built hardcore for sure.

Looking at the installation instructions, it has 4 mounting points.

Again, the mounting points may not withstand hard hits from rocks, but I'm not planning on testing them. If they can provide the same amount of protection as the stock rock rails, I'm happy.
