I would like to have a display that can show me EGT and other important engine stats but am not sure what to get. I saw the Banks iDash is mentioned a lot, but it is expensive. I have a VeePeek OBDII adapter, and have both JScan and Car Scanner ELM apps on my phone. I was thinking the easy way would be to just use my phone as the display, but that isn't as convenient as having a standalone display. I have old phones that could be semi-permanently used, but the power cable would be a bit unsightly.

I like the idea of these dash mount brackets. It seems like it wouldn't be in the way: https://www.amazon.com/Bulletpoint-RubiGrid-Platform-Wrangler-Gladiator/dp/B09Z47C9MD?s=automotive That one is sort of expensive, but that's the general idea.

Are there any displays that could be mounted there and show me things engine stats like EGT, etc.? I have a diesel, so any info about the DPF/regen that could be on the display would also be helpful.

I know this is sort of 2 questions in one: Which display to get, and where to mount it. Sorry 😕

Thank you!

Scangauge has some options as well, and far cheaper than Banks, though I should note it does NOT monitor oil temp, which is the one thing I want to watch.

The Banks iDASH is expensive but you also get what you pay for. Mine is mounted in the grab handle so it is easily visible. You can monitor tons of different parameters and also set alerts for them so don't always have to watch them and also integrates nicely with the Pedal Monster and Derringer.

You can usually get a used iDash for cheap. I got the whole setup (iDash/Derringer/Pedal Monster) from someone on marketplace for a few hundred.

I have the Banks iDash in a pod on my dash. you can set it up almost anyway you want it. I have 6 different screens that I can look at. And if you have the Pedal Monster. You can do the settings with the iDash. I recommend the Pedal Monster too.
