Anyone wish they had THIS gladiator

I’ve been told that when it’s lifted, I need to come up with a step solution. Tough, as I can’t justify power steps that I’d for sure destroy on the rocks. And I don’t want drop steps that will decrease clearance, or just look bad to me.

Of all of the rock rail/sliders that I have seen these are totally my favorite. As far as I can tell there isn’t a Canadian distributor so one day I’ll call and look into their willingness to ship up here.
On an unrelated note.....why do these sliders only cause cancer to California residents?? ?

Exactly. When was the last time you saw a fleet/local business 4-door midsize in general? The extended cab 6' box makes sense for light commercial with a 1-2 man crew where the 4 door is just added expense and wasted space.

We are currently replacing our full-size crew cab Rams, and Fords with Ford Rangers. JT’s just come in too expensive to compete.
One of my work vehicles is a Ram 1500 regular cab 4x4 with 8’ box.
Being replaced this year with a 4 door Ranger.

I’ve seen those, and they do look nice. I’m a little worried that since the steps would be for shorter people and kids, that they wouldn’t be low enough. If they just stick out further, it might not help enough to justify 1300. It’s nice that they allow the rubicon rails to stay. Really nice.

Many a truck have different wheelbases, I could see an extended cab JT with a 6’ box or a regular cab with a 8’.
Might be ugly as sin or not.
Even the Wrangler was able to morph into a 4 door and look how well the Unlimited has sold. Who would have guessed that 15 years ago?
But regardless, we as JT owners get but one choice.

Well that I’m positive about. There’d be no way to do it without altering the wheelbase or having a ridiculous amount of wasted space in an extended cab. It’s just physics. There are some really good videos out there with Jeep engineers talking about the design of the gladiator and one in particular goes into talking about how that extra space back there is one of the biggest ways they achieved the JT weight distribution being close to the JL.

This. I had a 2017 Canyon All Terrain before my Gladiator. Great truck, but like you said light as hell in the rear end. 2017 was the first year of the new drivetrain with the new 3.6l/8 speed auto, and new transfer case with auto 4wd as an option. My JT is a 2020 and it didn’t have the option for full time 4wd. I really thought I’d miss that feature. Miss it to the point that I delayed purchasing a Gladiator for several weeks. When I got my Gladiator I drove it home in a snow storm. I noticed quickly that I didn’t need 4wd on patchy roads. At first I was thinking that the Bridgestone all seasons on it must be amazing tires. That wasn’t it. I saw the thing about the weight distribution on an interview with a Jeep engineer.

Yes. I would have opted for the 2 door. No need for the 2 extra doors for me. No kids, grandkids, dog, in-laws, or anything else you would put in a back seat.

I would have purchased a Gladiator on day one if they produced the J6 concept with similar abilities to the 4dr. I have no use for back seats and wanted a slightly longer bed, but the 4dr has grown on me. Still waiting for my '22 to arrive.

No idea. Just a fun thought. When the JL first came out Fred Williams made one into a two door. Kind of cool.
