I get the same stuff. Rain X helps, so does just getting in the habit of washing them every time ya get gas. Only issue is if it's 20 out the water's frozen or not set out at the gas stations.

Rain-X is always a good route to take. I coat my windshield and front side windows.

but that won't keep your window clean 100. Only sure fire way is carry a can of Sprayaway glass cleaner and a small squeegee under your seat and clean the window when it gets nasty or next stop.

We use Sonax Extreme diluted for -30C (like -20 F i think)
You could try a coating like rain x. Should help that residue moves on rather than pool there.
Another attempt I would try is, just need to make sure that the shield goes far enough down.

We have these on my wife's JK and it reduced the dirt by about 75%. My Glad is horrible for this issue, I have mud flaps and no poke tires.
