Would you mind sharing some pictures of the cooler installation? I'm curious to see it in real life versus the CAD images from the APEX instructions online. Thanks!

I don't have any pictures from the installation process

I was toying with the idea of doing this or the redneck Ram and came across this video on their site. Now it won’t add any additional cooling capacity and I haven’t gotten a flow gauge to measure how much this increased my boost, but it’s a 5 second mod that did help. I plan on getting a gauge to see where I’m at and if going one of the two routes above will be of additional benefit.

Do you have a working link?

Find the FAQ labeled -

HOW DO I MODIFY THE JEEP ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PUMP (JL/JT)?

Step 1: Get a 7mm Allen head wrench.

Step 2: Locate the electric plug ins on the bottom of the Power Steering Pump.

Step 3: Locate the Bypass Piston/Pressure regulator Piston. (THIS WILL HAVE A GREEN INDICATOR MARK ON THE BYPASS PISTON.)

Step 4: Turn the piston clockwise all the way in. Then turn back out counter clockwise ¾ Turn.

There you have it. You have just in crease the pressure and flow coming out of the Electric Power Steering Pump.

We still do not think it is necessary to operate with a cooler with this mod. We would rather you be safe than sorry.

As for coolers, running an inline transmission cooler purchased from a parts store. We use O’Reilly Auto Parts part#402 made by Hayden.

Video link is still broken, but they have the basic idea behind it written out in steps.

Maybe something to try but I haven't taken the Gladiator Diesel off road yet as I've just had it a week. But I find it interesting that with 39" KM3's steering is very light in fact lighter than my JK was with a complete PSC box and ram. I was very surprised at this esp reading how others have issues.

The steering is fine for daily driving. Try putting it in 4wd and turning the wheel while you are stopped. Then try it with the lockers on. Or better yet, put the tire next to a curb and try to turn. I was fighting it in tight spaces and the power steering pump would be screaming after a few obstacles.

I found the apex kit to be a big improvement but still wasn't enough on 40's for how I use my Jeep. The apex kit is basically a part of the PSC kit so it wasn't a waste.

I had the power steering go out on a very sketchy obstacle and decided it was time for PSC. I got very close to putting the Jeep on it's side. The power steering system basically thinks it's overheating and shuts down. It came back on eventually after some waiting and cycling the engine on and off but it wasn't a fun experience.

If you don't plan on rock crawling often, the apex kit is sufficient in my opinion.

10-4, I'm going to try 38" trail grapplers , RCV etc and see how it works, I daily drive but also do the Rubicon, slick rock all the sierra trails. I'll likely get tons but at $15k for built ones plus all the other items needed would rather wait a while..I've been wheeling for 30+ years so drive with the big brain..we shall see how long these "little" axles last.

A 38" trail grappler is pretty much the same size as the 39" km3 but I believe it weighs more.

I'm not sure if you can find new tons for $15k. But if you're going to tons you might as well go to 40s but that's just my opinion.

3lbs more than the KM3's. When/if I get tons and I can get them no problem for 15k. I'll end up with 40's. Had 40's on my JK's and have KOH spec 40's on my stretched built CJ..
