What adapter are you using, if you don't mind sharing?
As another point of reference, I've been using the Car2Play adaptor for about 16 months and I've been very happy with it. It was highly recommended on here. Much simpler than plugging in the phone. I have a magnetic charging mount I use if using long term navigation or something like that.

I've used it with an iPhone 13Pro, 14Pro, and now 15Pro without issue. On occasion I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It restarts and everything works well.

mine works but i have to really push in the cable to my 15 pro max to get carplay to connect. sometimes i have to reconnect the cable a few times. its getting annoying. i use an anker usb-c to usb-c cable to the dash.
Same here. I just got the pro last week and I have to do the same thing. I’m using the usb C that came with the phone.

Been having the same issue. Tried Apple's official cable, as well as Sunguy cables from Amazon. Even Apple's didn't work consistently for me. Going to try some new USB 3.1 Gen 1 and 3.1 Gen 2 USB-C cables from Sunguy to see if it's a PD/bandwidth issue. However, I do agree that "firmly" pushing it in seems to give better results, although there's no scientific evidence behind that and it doesn't explain why it would start charging but not connect.

What I can tell you is the shipped cable in 15s is not meant to be a data cable, made for charging only. Also, I’ve always had the best luck using the Type A port on the truck over the Type C. New iOS updates always have issues first week or so with carplay, its like clockwork.

So far I have had zero issues using the cable that came with the phone. In fact, onx, trails Offroad, and other applications work much better lately it seems - not sure if it's a Jeep or Apple software change. I would be cautious about this 'firm pushing' of cable into phone - over time that can certainly cause other problems, like breaking the port. It should be a fairly easy push to 'click' on and off.

If anyone is looking for good quality cables, I recommend this site. Have been slowly building my home workstation since doing more work from home and their cables are pretty robust and good quality compared to others I have seen - although abit pricy. I have seen some of their stuff in apple stores so Apple must trust them well enough being as shut down as they normally are to outside items.

I didn't think to mention...I had a very similar issue with my recently replaced Samsung S22 Ultra using android auto. It was plugged in and wouldn't recognize android auto. It was very sporadic and tried different cables. Sounds like the same issue some of you may be having with the Iphone 15pro. With that being said, I think it's the crappy UConnect software.

After further testing, the Uconnect needs to be booted up fully first. No fails after the audio system becomes responsive. 8.4 system for reference.

Ditto here, have to unplug and plug the Apple cable 2-3 times to my 15 Pro Max and then magically it will work. I guess I'm finally just getting that proper connection. Never ran into this with the 12 Pro. I ordered an Anker USBC cable yesterday hoping it would help, but it sounds like it may not from what I'm seeing here. Frustrating!
I have to do the same thing with mine.

I got my iPhone 15 pro yesterday and it worked well with the factory Apple USB-C. That Carplay2air has me intrigued though, might have to give it a shot. I’d love to ditch the wired plug and put the adapter in my center console.

I quit using the cable for CarPlay. Bought an AutoSky Bluetooth adapter. So far works well. The only glitch is from time to time I have to manually reconnect via settings. Got it on Amazon for about $50.

CarLinkKit 3.0 I have been using it for about a year with no issues.

I like keeping the phone in my pocket, just get in and drive.
CyclopsDad, thanks again for his post! This device is just awesome. So easy to set up, delete phone from the radio, plug this in, attach Bluetooth and viola. Works perfectly and when I get in the car it hooks up very quickly. Always on car play and the steering wheel buttons all work the same including Siri.

This is so much better than a cable! Thanks man. Really appreciate the hot tip here.

I used that same device on a '16 Corvette I had and it worked flawlessly. I tried this one for the Gladiator and it works really good as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6Q221R...=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1
I bought a 2nd one for my daughters Mazda CX5 and she says it works perfectly in it too. With the coupon code etc it comes in under $60!
