Yep, you can make them home made at the house for under $20, but they are all equal, non better than the others. The only ones that are different are ones for a JK that are made by JKS called Flex connects and come with springs you can change out for different riding situations. Honestly though I know some people who have bought the flex connects and say there isn't much difference on them either and that they aren't worth the extra money. I don't think they make the Flex connects for the JT yet or if they will.

Edit: after further research I guess they are offering them for the JT as well. These would be the only ones that would maybe make a difference as far as ride quality goes. I have no personal experience with them but had considered them for my JKU when I owned it. If I was to get a set these would be the ones I would buy, and that's just because I have always wanted to give them a shot. Keep in mind also that with this particular kit you need at least 2" of lift to install them, or that's the manufacturer recommendation.

I just installed the Teraflex disconnects. Very happy with them. I went with them just because all of my other suspension mods are Teraflex. I used all Teraflex on my JK and will do the same on my JT.

Are there any noises that appear with disconnects? Clunking, rattling, etc?

I never had any noises with my homemade ones on my JKU. I've never heard anyone mention noises out of the bought ones either. I would imagine if there were noises then they would be a tough sell.

I will say that they are NOT all equal. Some use bushings, while others use rod ends at the attachment points, and others may use a combination. Between them, there are different bushing styles. Some slide off a bar pin to disconnect at the bushing, while some disconnect in the middle. Some may require you to cut one of the factory mounting tabs off your axle. The kind with bushings at both ends, with the bar and pin in the center can be difficult to get back together. JKS makes a kit, and they’ve been building them as long as anyone, and should stand behind them. Synergy's disconnects are also quite nice.

More thoughts: Rubber bushings are quiet, but can bind, especially if the metal sleeves are vulcanized to the bushing. Vulcanized bushings don't rotate. Polyurethane needs to stay greased or will squeak. Some of the metal sleeves used in either are a split-type, and can't hold up to proper torque. The two mentioned above are more expensive, but are likely to last the life of a Jeep. The cheaper ones often get removed again because they are too much of a pain to deal with. Don't forget that you can just remove the bolt from the lower end of your stock sway bar links. That's a nuisance, but free...

I am on my 3rd set of JKS units. Awesome parts and well designed. It even includes brackets to get them up and out of the way.

I just installed these last weekend. Initially they were quiet. After about a week they started clunking. I went back today and retorqued the bolts and realized I didn't shoot grease in the zerks, I just lubed the pins. It appears to have taken care of it. If not I'll report back.
