Plus, on the diesels we are supposed to cool down the turbo before shutting off. I your turbo is 800f and you pull off the highway to the stoplight, you should not shut down the engine without giving time for the turbo to come down in temp.
It even gives cool down wait times in the owners manual.

Nobody said they thought this all the way through. I even have it in my 17' GC talk about a violent shake when it starts back up.
Even in the very rare occurrence when I have forgot to push the button the diesel does start back up way smoother than my GC does. Still doesn't feel right for it to happen.

Just push the button everytime you get in. I always do

I have Alfaobd which can disabled this feature, but opted for the module instead just so i can quickly reactivate to checks on the condition of the batteries and for troubleshooting purpose.

After by concern about the auto start stop and posting this thread.... original owner installed a by-pass.
Tomorrow is a big test, towing home a boat, after owning my willys for a week, I'm sure it will have no issues!!
