I swapped out my aux battery and main battery today due to “avengers” start/stop service light. Also the truck is hitting year four and I felt new batteries are a worth while investment.

I changed the aux battery by going in trough the top. I could not for the life of me get the aux battery “cover” reinstalled flush. The +/- cables could not be arranged to get the cover to lay flat, there is a slight bludge. I think there is a slight difference in the new aux battery dimension that won’t let the cables lay flat enough. Do you think the cover could create some rub issue over time to cause a malfunction?

Everything else went back together just fine and the truck started right up. “Avengers” light is now off.

The cover can only go one way. There is a large plastic moulding on half. You probably have the cover on wrong.

No it’s the right way, it cannot be reversed. The issue is the cables going to aux battery terminals lay across the aux battery and their thickness is not letting the cover lay perfectly flat. There is not enough slack in the cables to change their routing. I think the replacement battery is slightly taller not letting the cables to lay low enough.

Example picture of those cables on top of battery.

You really chose the hard way of changing it. So much easier taking the tire and liner off.
