I am installing an SPOD and I have the factory Aux switches. Im planing on running everything from the SPOD and not use the AUX switches. Is there any reason I should use the aux switches vs the SPOD? I will run electric back to the bed where I will have a rack and rooftop tent with a fridge etc. Also have an ARB compressor that is mounted under the passenger seat that Im thinking of using the aux switches on. I was considering running the power back to the bed from AUX switch no 3. Any insights would be helpful.

Good question. I am using the MLC-6 kit and love it (no factory aux switches) but if I had factory aux "and" aftermarket, I'd appreciate the "off with the ignition" that the factory setup offers. I could wire my MLC through a relay to do that, but the factory stuff has that covered. I'm not sure what programming options the factory stuff has, but things like driving lights (off with ignition) vs aftermarket (CB/GMRS on after ignition off) can be handy. I wish I knew more about programming options for the factory aux switches. Anyone?

I actually use both. I have a Trigger ACS 4+ hooked up to Aux 4. I run my perimeter lighting off of that set up. I like this because the Trigger has a portable controller that is mounted in the bed with my trail kitchen (it also runs from an app on my iPhone) and can be used by the camp fire or up in the RTT to turn on perimeter lights, rock lights, or the the canopy interior lights.

Then I have an onboard ARB twin hooked to Aux 3 so that I can run that from the cab area when airing up.

No current plans for Aux 1 & 2 but I might run my winch through one with a relay just so that I can ensure there is no power when the ignition is off.
