I simply take a sharp punch and punch a hole in the top of the filter and let it drain for about an hour.
Punch the hole and then hit it with shop air while looking strait at the end of the filter? 😱

Is 10 psi. the max you should apply?

Will anything bad happen if I hit with 100 psi from my shop compressor?

Thx all for the feedback.
I have used standard shop air pressures from 90 to 120 PSI with no issue. Most oil filters are rated from 200 to 300 PSI burst pressure anyways.

Hope no metal particles fall inside the engine with the oil after punching a hole in the filter with a sharp chisel.....

It just a small pin hole. Just enough to let air in and oil out.

For those that have the Baxter oil filter mod, does it make startup less noisy? And how inconvenient are the oil changes when you have to use compressed air the drain the filter?
I installed one on my old JK, it really did do away with the 2-3 second dry start rattle,
Sometimes if left sitting for a week or so it would have a 1 second rattle.
but I cannot say if it will work on the newer JL/JT's because I do not have that rattle on my
Gladdy, but I don't see why it wouldn't work
