I was at the NYC Auto Show and noticed these openings that seem like they would allow rain to go in a bit.

I was also counting on this cover to allow me to use the bed as a large trunk year round through rain and snow. Not so sure now, but maybe it’s not so bad although wound be a hassle.

I have one it worked well at first, then started to sag in a few months. It leaks bad now and flaps going down the highway. Was required to buy with dual top option. Dealer agrees to it leaking. Jeepcare says they would replace if dealer said it was defective, but dealer said it was a design flaw. Sounds like bs to me. I guess it is new policy to declare design flaw, instead of honoring warranty.

Hey double J...I got this from another thread on similar subject. Not sure if it's a TSB or just advisory for FCA but seems to address all of your symptoms. Maybe take this to your dealer and see what they say?

A cover shouldn't leak and flap around. Period. I know my Bestop roll-up hasn't after three months of driving in all kinds of rain this summer and fall.

Now they are backtracking against calling it a design flaw and saying that they followed the steps but refused to replace it or fix it jeep care told me to take it to another dealer will be my third trip to the dealer for this problem.

I have the Rugged Ridge Tri-fold Tonneau Cover and have driven through the outer bands of a hurricane from Gulf Shores back to Dallas, and had no water get in. We had luggage for four people in the bed, and everything was completely dry. Even with the cross wind at highway speed.

I worked with JeepCares, provided pictures of mine and of good ones that fit nice, then went to the dealer, they balked but I gave them a number to call, they started a star case and I got a new cover that hasn't allowed rain to get in, doesn't sag and doesn't flap around.

Mine's pretty tight with no issues so far. Also treated it with 303 fabric protector and it's seemed to help.

I got a cover from Gator. Check em out. I run mine in car wash with no water. It’s a tri fold. Think it’s better then a extang and price is better.

I have had the Rugged Ridge cover for about 9 months now. Live in Southern California so not a lot of rain, but go to the car wash every weekend and no water gets in at all.

These are stronger with the additional frame and won't flap in the wind like the Mopar roll-up cover.
