Don't know how well it seals, but it seems like its made from the same material as soft tops so my guess is yes it is

I have watched hours of videos trying to see if anyone mentions whether it is weatherproof or not. I does seem to be the same fabric as the premium soft top but the way it rolls up makes me think that it may still let water in on the edges. So my uneducated guess is that it will still allow water in along the edges.

It will probably keep most of the rain off your stuff, but given that the end tucks under the tailgate in order to ‘lock’, it will likely eventually allow some pooled water and rain to run down inside there. There could be a gasket there that helps for a while, but it looks like it’s design is such that eventually water will get in.

My biggest question about the cover is will it pool water. It looks really flat. Ive had several roll up tonneau covers. When they get a bit of snow on them they dip then the snow melts and makes a pond, hopefully you drive it at that point before it freezes, or it’s there for awhile. These tonneau covers all had bows with a lot more arch than what this looks like in pics. I think it might get the ponding with just rain. Every time it does this stretches it and it only gets worse. I’m passing for now.

In this pic you can see arch for the roof bows but almost none in the tonneau cover.

I’ll be holding out for at least a third-party hard folding tonneau kind of like the Tacoma. Ideally I can find something relatively bear-proof ... camping in Colorado with a soft top JT no bueno.

Bears will get into almost any vehicle for food, soft top or no. Properly hung bear bag is the only way to go. Or the canisters as required in RMNP however I hate carrying those in my pack.

yeah since it just lays on top of the box strong winds might let rain in. Won't be waterproof, but close. I wouldn't put anything in there you absolutely don't want to get wet like drywall, but plywood should be alright, lol

Checkout from 1:07 to 1:13, that thing flaps pretty good, and they're not going 75 on the highway. when its raining and cars are spraying up water, i wonder how much is getting under that when its flapping around?
