Is the roll up cover weatherproof? Waterproof?

Bears will get into almost any vehicle for food, soft top or no. Properly hung bear bag is the only way to go. Or the canisters as required in RMNP however I hate carrying those in my pack.I’ll be holding out for at least a third-party hard folding tonneau kind of like the Tacoma. Ideally I can find something relatively bear-proof ... camping in Colorado with a soft top JT no bueno.
yeah since it just lays on top of the box strong winds might let rain in. Won't be waterproof, but close. I wouldn't put anything in there you absolutely don't want to get wet like drywall, but plywood should be alright, lolI have watched hours of videos trying to see if anyone mentions whether it is weatherproof or not. I does seem to be the same fabric as the premium soft top but the way it rolls up makes me think that it may still let water in on the edges. So my uneducated guess is that it will still allow water in along the edges.
hmmm, hopefully water doesn't puddle in there. In this pic you can see arch for the roof bows but almost none in the tonneau cover.
